Life has hard days and happy days. And sometimes in the middle of the hard ones, I remind myself how much there still is to be thankful for. ❤️

A home. A warm bed. Food. Family. Our children. And all those ordinary little moments that one day won’t feel so ordinary.

Make memories in both the hard seasons and the beautiful ones.

That’s part of what I love about having Selfie Cove Studio, it’s not only a place to create content. It’s a place to capture life. ❤️

Turns out our newest 4-year-old creator knows a thing or two about Selfie Cove. 😂❤️

But this gave me another idea…

We take so many photos of the people we love. What about recording their voices, their answers, their stories and their personalities too?

Interview your child. Your parents. Your grandparents. Your siblings. Your spouse. ❤️

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Sit down, ask a few questions, hit record.

We wear so many titles in life.

Some titles are given to us. Some we choose. Some change with the season.

But I’m learning that we have more say in what we create with our lives than we sometimes realize.

We don’t have to have it all figured out.

Just keep writing the next page. Trying the next thing. Creating as you go.

Creating has taught us a few things.

The perfect time apparently never comes.

Building something quietly and expecting an audience to magically appear when you’re ready doesn’t really work either.

And while having help is wonderful, nobody can outsource their own voice, personality or story.

Maybe creating is less about having everything figured out and more about letting people come along while you do. ❤️

We (Meru + Stacey) will be at Selfie Cove Tuesday Sep 8 from 10 AM–12 PM creating and working on a few things.

Some people are perfectly happy just living life.

And then there are those of us who are living life… while also always wanting to create something. 😅

A book. A business. A podcast. Content. A project. An idea we just can’t let go of.

The problem usually isn’t that we don’t want to do it.

Creating is simply one of the easiest things to postpone.

Work has deadlines. Emails need answers. Kids need things. Laundry somehow needs doing AGAIN. 😂

But your idea? It will quietly wait.

And suddenly another six months have passed.

Maybe we don’t need to find time to create.

Maybe we need to make an appointment with our creativity.

Put it on the calendar. Get out of the house. Go somewhere your creativity gets to be the priority for a little while.
