Something thatโs been on my heart lately. ๐ค
Being a small business owner is so much more than what people see on the outside. Thereโs a lot that goes on behind the scenes, and sometimes I think we forget that thereโs a real person behind every small business.
I try really hard to be flexible and accommodating for my clients, to work around their schedules while also balancing my own. Iโm a wife, a mom, and Iโm balancing a job outside of photography, too. Iโm constantly trying to find that balance, and Iโm still learning and growing along the way.
I also know that with the way the economy is right now, everything is expensive. Groceries, bills, childcare, gasโฆ it all adds up. I feel it in my own household, too. I know that photography isnโt always something every family can fit into their budget, and I completely understand that.
I want to be able to support my family through my business while also keeping photography as accessible as I reasonably can for other families. Thatโs something I genuinely care about. I know I have to make adjustments as the cost of running a business increases, just like everyone else does, but I never want to lose sight of why I started doing this in the first place.
Thereโs a lot that goes into running a photography business beyond the time spent taking pictures, and Iโm always trying to find that balance between making a living, providing a meaningful experience, and keeping my work within reach for as many families as I can.
I also think itโs important to remember that weโre all human. Small business owners have lives outside of their businesses, and clients have things going on that we may never know about. I believe in giving grace, being willing to learn, taking accountability when needed, and treating people with kindness.
I may not get everything perfect, but I genuinely care. I care about my clients, their experience, and the memories they trust me to preserve. Iโm always going to keep learning, growing, and doing my best. ๐ค
At the end of the day, I started this business because I love capturing the little moments that become the big memories. The tiny newborn fingers, the missing teeth, the family hugs, and the seasons of life that pass far too quickly.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my little business, trusted me with your memories, referred your friends, shared my posts, or simply cheered me on. You have no idea how much it means to me. ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
