Recently, I had the chance to photograph a wonderful family I had never met before at the beautiful Lincoln Botanical Gardens. From the moment we started, everything just clicked—the laughter, the connection, the little in-between moments that make each family unique.

Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about photos, it’s about preserving genuine moments and turning them into memories that will last a lifetime.

This past weekend, I received a slightly panicked text message from a friend looking for a photographer to capture some special moments for the Rochester High School soccer team. The players were all getting dressed up to head out to their 2024 Homecoming Dance, and they wanted to take some group shots out on the soccer field beforehand.

Luckily, I didn’t have anything scheduled during that time, so I grabbed my camera and headed over to score some shots.

As a wedding photographer, there are moments from each wedding that stay with me forever.

For Michael and Caitlin’s wedding, it was the overwhelming love for family and friends, the excitement of capturing a record-breaking 4,218 photos, the charm of the small kiddie pool, and the unforgettable fun of the massive “redneck waterside” (the reason for so many shots!).

Sold! This spring, I had the pleasure of donating a family photo session to our local PTO's fundraiser. To my surprise and delight, it became one of the most sought-after items of the event. When the bidding frenzy ended, the Sperry Family emerged victorious. Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting the Sperry Family at Rochester Park, where we navigated through the swarm of cicadas for a wonderful photo session.

I was able to meet up with recent high school graduate Cameron at the Sugar Creek Covered Bridge in Chatham. It was a beautiful evening to take pictures, except for all the cicadas flying around.

There are many things as a photographer that can make your stomach drop. One of those things is when you receive an unexpected phone call from a frantic cousin who is crying when you answer the phone and says, “HELP!! Elizabeth had Senior pictures planned this weekend in Chicago but we can’t make it and we can’t meet up with the other photographer until March. Can you take Elizabeth’s Senior pictures ASAP???” After putting my stomach back in its proper place, I said I would be happy to help out!

When Elizabeth and I were able to meet up the fall leaves were displayed in their colorful glory and we captured some amazing pictures!

It was nice meeting up with Grim Family once again.

It was also a fun experience meeting up with Nick at his local gym at 10:00 at night. Having the whole gym to ourselves was new to me and I had fun taking this new type of picture. Have camera will travel. I am really happy with how the gym pictures turned out!!
