Right after deciding to finally do “something,” we thought that it would be fun to have some friends join us from time to time, as we coddiwomple throughout the Midwest.
John, our good friend from high school, bravely agreed 😂 to be our first guest and join us for this third outing! He’s the best, coolest local historian around, and just a really great dude.
So, the first place we wanted to check out together was a Lincoln museum in the very small hometown where we all went to high school. It really is a pretty area with some cool history, so it was one roadtrip we were really looking forward to.
But, this trip back home would very sadly turn out to be much more bitter than sweet for us… Our lifelong and very close friend, Kristie, became very ill and suddenly passed just days before.
She was the very close friend from high school who we wanted to introduce you to the last time out, and take for a cruise around our old stomping grounds and ??? She loved to go exploring, too…
… Had it not been the museum’s last day open for the season, we definitely and respectfully would’ve postponed this trip back. We knew she’d want us to go though, to show off our little town’s beauty and impressive history. So that a few more will want to go.
Which is our whole point of doing what we’re doing.
So, this is very sadly dedicated to our friend and sister. She was a sort of town matriarch for our generation. And one of the best people you’d ever want to meet or call a friend.
Kristie, we miss your smile, your laugh, your beautiful voice, your humor, your kindness, your unwavering love for your friends and family, and your cool, unequivocal, badassery.
Thank you for your many signs on this day and since, showing us you are still right here with us. 💔💔😘😘✌️✌️
… Please enjoy… this has truly been a labor of love…
And thank you SO much to Jim, the current caretaker of our little town’s shared history. 🤩
