Yesterday morning I went to the Nature Center for a walk and some photography. I wasn't looking for anything in particular. Here are a few of the shots I took yesterday.

Pigeon Forge Day 5:
Another bridge and some family history.

Thursday morning the Debbie, Emily, Leslie, Carol and I went to the Scrapbook Superstore, Sara was feeling a little under the weather. That afternoon we headed into Gatlinburg for the Skypark. Debbie wasn't too excited to ride the lift to the top, but she made it.
The SkyBridge is North America's longest pedestrian cable bridge. At 680' long and 180' above the valley below. The views were spectacular.
After the SkyPark we made a quick stop at the Sugarlands Visitor Center then split ways. Emily, Leslie and Carol went in search of waterfalls while Debbie and I went in search of some family history. We were headed for the Laura Spelman-Rockefeller Memorial. LS-R was the wife of John D. Rockefellar and a distant cousin of mine. The drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was breathtaking.

Pigeon Forge Day 2:
Bears, Birds and ATVs

Monday morning we were visited by a Mama Bear and her two cubs. The group had a blast riding ATVs. Later in the afternoon we went to Parrot Mountain, an absolutely amazing bird sanctuary. After an exciting day we headed back to the cabin to clean up. Thanks to Leslie and Emily sitting through a time share sales pitch we got discounted tickets to the Hatfields & McCoys Dinner Show.

Last week I went on an adventure along with five amazing women to Pigeon Forge, TN and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Saturday morning we left Springfield, MO around 5:00am. I knew later that morning I would be facing one of my biggest fears. The Mississippi and Ohio River confluence bridges. I did drive across the bridges, white knuckling the steering wheel over both. We drove through Kentucky and made it into Tennessee. Just past Nashville we stopped at Burgess Falls State Park. After a short hike the 136ft tall falls were revealed. After a couple of fuel stops we made it Pigeon Forge.

Sunday was a laid back day. We ate lunch at The Old Mill Restaurant. We did some souvenir shopping and I had an appointment at 2:00pm for my first tattoo. The folks at Precision Ink Tattoos were fantastic! I got the classic Sasquatch walking silhouette. After the tattoo we shopped some more. We made it back to the cabin and crashed for the night. All of us were excited for Monday.

I went for a walk yesterday at the Nature Center. The water level was pretty high. I could listen to this all day.
