part two: the elopement 💫

a sunrise elopement covered in goosebumps and new beginnings. we wanted this moment to be something special, just for us.

a small snippet from my vows 🥲
“mariah, you changed everything.
i will always remember that moment when i walked up to you while you were playing the piano in the corner of the room. i know you are convinced you made the first move but you have to give me some credit because i made the actual first steps. i will never forget that moment of hesitation where i introduced myself as “miguel” and not “lugo”, because for some reason, deep down inside, i knew there was something different about you.
growing up I did not know what “love” looked like for me. this idea to fall in love, get married, start a family and have a healthy relationship seemed attainable but always felt so distant. and if i were try to reach out and try to grab it, it would always be right out of arms reach. i think back to my 10 year old self praying and crying to god that i will be a good husband and father one day. that despite not fully understanding at the time or being fortunate enough to witness what this idea of marriage looked like, i would somehow get there. and here we are. i truly believe that our marriage will spark something new for both our families. that we will be a light and a model to that 10 year old boy praying and crying to god…(continued)”
