Before I met anyone in/from Alton IL I would only go to Fast Eddies. Now that I have spent some time with people of their community, I have friends there now! And they all are doing cool s**t there!

This was one of those cool s**t moments lol. Just like Springfield, Virginia, Kansas, and Birmingham, Alton had a Survival Revival too.

They involved members of their unhoused community to help run the Revival. I thought that was very cool. I loved the relationship they had with the unhoused. You can tell it built off kindness and respect.

They had backpacks full of school supplies. Medical supplies. Voting registration. A bunch of stuff! But I think what I liked the most was one long table dinner we had. Every one that came for dinner was asked to bring a table and a food item. We lined the tables up and all had a massive buffet. It was great!!

Afterwards there was a service held inside for anyone who wanted to attend and a documentary was shown from the life of a unhoused person. It was powerful and eye opening. We all think we know until you find out what it’s like to unhoused.

Some of the Springfield crew drove down to join as well. It was great time!

That you to the Kairos Center for seeing my work and bringing me along to the other cities for the Revivals. I love the work yall are doing and am honored to be a part of it.
