I'm Shelby Alexis and most days you can find me sitting at home (it is truly my happy place) snuggling our two baby boys and our rescue pup Cooper. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1

It is will a grateful and humble heart that I am announcing the closing of Shelby Alexis Photography. Over the last 15 years I have been welcomed into some of the most precious moments in my clients lives. Birth, proposals, weddings, graduations, anniversaries and the list can go on. To all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Photography has carried me through my junior-high/high-school years to the beautiful phase that is motherhood with small children. I’ve met some amazing people and made some amazing friendships along the way.

God has been so good to allow photography to provide for myself and my little family over the years but He has made it clear it is time to lay it down. I could give you a laundry list of reasons “why” but just know, I feel soooo much peace. This is the right thing for my family and for myself.

In the last 10+ years of photographing weddings I’ve never photographed more God glorifying and Christ centered wedding day. These two were so intentional in so many areas of their wedding to share the gospel and serve others. God is truly so good! I am so happy for this sweet sister and brother-in-law of mine!

To have bridals or not to have bridals? I often get asked by clients if they should book a bridal session. My answer is always in the form of a question, “Do you want to save time on your wedding day?” Taking those pictures beforehand can save some time on your wedding day but if you’re not wanting to have a full blown session those kind of photos can always be taken on your wedding day. Taking them beforehand can Eliminate some of the stress of trying to be ready earlier than the ceremony time. 👰🏼‍♀️ It all about what each individual bride wants.

Sisters 🤍 As the oldest of 5 kiddos (4 of which are girls) I remember my mom always saying you’ll be thankful for your sisters on day. That day has come and I would say thankful is an understatement. The joy that these sisters have celebrating their sisters marriage is one that I won’t forget.

✨ Hey there! ✨ I haven’t shown my face around here in some time! My name is Shelby (Alexis is my middle name), I am a small town Texas gal who grew up on a “farm” west of Fort Worth. I met my husband at the ripe old age of 18 and we got married exactly one year later (we are crazy, I know) at the farm I grew up on. After we got married we moved to the “big city” (aka the suburbs), adopted a couple dogs and had a couple of beautiful babies. I love being a wife, mama, baking bread, spending time in my garden and tending to my chickens ( ). I guess you really can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t country out of girl.

The heartbeat of Shelby Alexis Photography is to capture photos that are full of life, joy and connection! Preserving the legacy of your family for generations to come! Whether it’s for your wedding, family photos, celebrating a new baby or your engagement! Capturing those precious memories is essential and an honor I don’t take lightly!

These two did not let the rain slow them down on their wedding day! That spring we got a record amount of rain and unfortunately it made it impossible to do portraits the day of their wedding. Thankfully we were able to do an “After Session” a few weeks after their big day and I’m so glad we did! Happy second Wedding Anniversary you guys!!
