Day 161 - Strength I Overlooked
"What strength in myself have I underestimated?"
The strength I have underestimated in myself is my ability to keep growing, even in difficult conditions.
Like the trees surrounding this abandoned house, I have endured loss, neglect, disappointment, and seasons when it seemed easier to stop reaching.
Yet I continue to grow, adapt, and move toward the light.
What I once thought was survival, I now recognize as resilience.
For years, I underestimated my resilience.
I focused on the losses, the hardships, and the obstacles.
But when I look back, I see something different.
No matter what surrounded me, I kept growing.
Like these trees reclaiming the space around this abandoned house, I found ways to reach toward life, purpose, and possibility.
My ability to thrive after adversity.
Life did not begin with ideal circumstances.
I lost my mother at seven, navigated family dysfunction, endured toxic environments, and faced countless disappointments.
Yet I am still growing, still building, still becoming.
This photo reminds me that resilience is more than surviving—
It is continuing to grow where others expected you to wither.
