🔥 Remembering Rob Schield — September 7, 2020 🔥

Today, September 7, we remember Rob Schield on the anniversary of his passing.
Rob dedicated his career to the East St. Louis Fire Department and had a true love for the fire service. To him, being a firefighter was more than a career — it was a brotherhood, a calling, and a part of who he was.

Those who knew Rob also knew his sense of humor. He loved a good prank, loved making people laugh, and had a way of creating memories that would stick with you long after the call was over. His personality, his laughter, and his love for the fire service made him someone who was impossible to forget.

Through Fire Cam, so many of those moments and memories became part of the story of the fire service he loved. The calls, the camaraderie, the laughs, and the brotherhood all reflected a man who was proud to be a firefighter.

But while his brothers and sisters in the fire service remember Rob, his family misses him in ways that words are can never fully express. Most of all, his two girls continue to carry his memory with them every day. There are milestones, holidays, birthdays, ordinary moments, and countless times when they wish he were here to share them. No amount of time can change how deeply a father is missed.

Today, we remember Rob, not only as a firefighter, but as a father, a friend, a brother, a prankster, and a man who loved the fire service.

Rob, you are missed more than you know. Your girls miss you. Your family misses you. Your fire service brothers and sisters remember you.
Rest easy, Rob. Keep watch over your girls, and know that your memory continues to live on.
