My last family session outside for the year (i think!)

The Vela family was a session I will never forget. Their sons, Matty (3) and Gabriel (13) were such sweet brothers that made the session so easy. I wanted to capture as much Christmas magic as I could during this session so I made it a point to study up on the questionnaire that the wonderful SanDee provided and add some extra sweet suprises to make Matty smile extra big. I just love how these photos came out. 💌

At the beginning of this month, I decided to try and turn my hobby of photography into a career. I’ve only been using my camera for about a year and a half, and I would use it to capture family member’s special moments or content for my previous job. Leaving my job and putting myself out there as a photographer wasn’t an easy decision, but wow am I glad I took the risk.

This month alone I have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing families & produce images for them that I hope they will cherish for a lifetime. The support I have received since starting this business has been so much more than I could ever imagine.

Fall, you have been so good to me…. even though I only hopped in the industry with 4 weekends left before cold, snowy weather. I can only imagine what next year will bring.

If you’re anything like this high school senior…. or me (lol) you can’t help but think of the conrad & belly peach scene from TSITP every time wild horses by the rolling stones comes on.

When Natalie and I discussed her vision for this session we were trying to describe a vibe you just can’t name- it’s like the peach scene, golden hour sunset glow + a little bit of lainey wilson in the pastures sort of feel.

I absolutely love how these images turned out, and playing with light throughout this session (even at the end when we kept going as the sun set so beautifully) was so fun to capture.

Every time I deliver a gallery to a client, I find myself saying, “this has to be my favorite gallery i’ve ever delivered”

Maybe it’s because I spend hours staring at your images during the editing process. And somewhere in those hours, I always discover so many beautiful shared moments on my screen. It’s the sweetest thing to look back and find the hidden touches, glances, and laughs that blended together in the midst of photographing your family.

By the time I deliver a gallery, it becomes so clear to see the stories that make each family unique- the love they have for one another and the treasure these images will be for years to come.

And I just love bringing that magic to life ✨

This session was all about capturing the magic of Rai’s family. I absolutely loved their dynamic, their humor, and the way they love each other. There was truly never a dull moment!

And… can we talk about how beautiful Forest Park is at this time of day??? I mean… gorgeous. 😍

THE BRADYS 🤍🤎🍂

It was definitely one of those (extra) chilly, windy fall days… but this crew made it look effortless! Between the laughs, the windblown hair, and everyone snuggling up to stay warm, this session turned into such a sweet one.

And the best part? We even caught a shot of both dogs looking at the camera at the same time… which any dog parent knows is a small victory in itself. 🐾✨

🍂 There’s something so special about extended family sessions in the fall. Navya reached out for their annual portraits, wanting to capture the golden beauty of the season at a family home, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting. The backyard was glowing with rich golds and rusts, and the whole session felt straight out of a cozy autumn daydream.

Navya’s little one is just 3 months old, and seeing the generations come together to celebrate this new season of life was such a beautiful reminder of what family photos are really about: preserving the feeling of now.

She also asked for a slightly warmer editing style than my usual light-and-airy tones, and honestly, I’m obsessed with how it turned out. The images have such a timeless and classic feel, full of warmth, depth, and golden tones that perfectly capture the season.

This session reminded me why I love what I do. Knowing these images will serve my clients for years to come and document such a special, fleeting chapter in their lives means everything to me.

There’s something extra sweet about photographing kids during the holidays- the genuine smiles, the giggles between shots, and those little moments that just can’t be posed. The Haynes family wanted to capture a few special Christmas photos of their kids for Christmas cards and we met up at Weldon Spring City Park right in front of the red barn, a spot that never disappoints for that cozy, classic holiday feel.

It was definitely a chilly day (the kind that makes you keep your gloves on between shots!), but that didn’t stop us one bit. The Haynes kids were absolute champs, full of personality, laughter, and all the energy that makes photographing families so much fun. I shuffled them in and out behind the camera to keep everyone warm, and somehow, in between the cold noses and quick breaks, we ended up with the sweetest moments.

There’s just something about that mix of laughter, bundled layers, and a bit of holiday magic that makes sessions like this one so special. These photos aren’t just about smiling for the camera; they’re about freezing a moment in time that feels joyful and real.

Hey friends! 🎄 I’m so excited to announce my Holiday Mini Sessions at Weldon Spring City Park! If you’ve been meaning to get updated family photos (and finally check off those Christmas card pictures), this is your sign to do it. ✨

Each session is 30 minutes long and includes 20+ fully edited digital images, an online gallery for easy download and sharing, and a print release so you can use your photos however you’d like. We’ll be shooting in front of the red barn (looks AMAZING on Christmas cards!)
