I haven’t photographed a family member’s wedding yet, but I imagine it would feel a lot like this. The Schmitts feel like an adoptive family, and so Jenny is like a little sister in more ways than one. (And not just because people always mistake me for her big sis Becky). We met way back when she was in high school and joined our youth group for a Steuby weekend, and now the family just got even better because she’s married to the wonderful Patrick!!

It’s always so special photographing weddings, but it means even more when it’s with people I care so much about. Jenny and Patrick, celebrating and capturing your love has been SUCH a joy. I can’t wait to see how the Lord continues to bless you!!

Visiting the swan in Lafayette Square before a sweet treat at Andy's Frozen Custard is both a perfect date night and a dreamy engagement session. Tori and Matt are so sweet, so fun and so in love, so recreating their date night regulars was the perfect backdrop for their engagement shoot. Haley and Karol wanted to honor their roots on their wedding day, which meant celebrating St. Louis (hi there, Arch!), AND Poland (Polish Pottery centerpieces officially make me swoon).

But more than their homelands, it’s evident that these two are rooted in their love for the Lord. Everything about their day pointed to that. From the parents’ blessing in the adoration chapel prior to Mass, to getting married on a special Marian Feast day (more on that to come!). Even Fr. ‘s homily noted how their day was not about being a bride and groom, but really “all about Jesus” and pointing others to Him.

There were so many poignant moments on this day, I’m still soaking it all in. Haley and Karol, thank you for letting me witness your beautiful Sacrament. 🤍🤍

It’s the last Senior Sunday for the class of 2026, and I’ve been saving this one for a minute! Gabby!! Oh my gosh. I met this sweet girl her freshman year at youth group, and it’s so wild that she has graduated and is off on an adventure to such big and beautiful things. Gabby has the biggest hearted kind soul (with excellent taste in music, might I add). Congratulations on all your incredible accomplishments, Gabby! I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store for you 🥰

I think the only thing Jenny and Zach love more than each other is our Lord 💞

I don't know how I get so lucky to work with the kindest, most authentic, loveliest people, but I'm so grateful that I do!! Jenny and Zach's wedding day was overflowing with joy. Endless smiles, lots of laughter, it's clear that these two are deeply loved. And I mean, how could you not?? I'm gonna be feeling all the feels about this one for awhile 🥰

Just a reminder that you don’t need a fancy location. You can wear what you wore to daycare that day. It can drizzle a bit, and the sun can hide away. Things don’t have to be picture perfect to get perfect pictures 💕

My favorite thing about photographing a Traditional Latin Mass wedding is that the FIRST thing that happens after walking down the aisle is the marriage rite. No readings, no Gospel, just the bride and groom vowing their commitment to each other and BAM💥 married. Then the couple gets to celebrate the entire Mass together for the first time as a married bride and groom.

It was so perfect for Ariel and Ryan’s wedding day because it exactly represented their priorities: Sacrament first, then everything else. They didn’t want to waste any time on such a special day, so after Mass, the celebration began with a bridal party “picnic” on the lawn of the church, before heading to their reception, which their hospitality made feel more like a BBQ among family. It felt so perfect, and so them: front load all the important stuff, then sit back and enjoy. And what a joy it was!! Truly so grateful to get to celebrate and capture Sacraments like these with so many amazing couples!!

P.S. Punk rock live band concerts are my new favorite way to conclude a wedding reception (in case anyone needs ideas…)
