Let’s chat-
As I’m sitting here at 8:10pm with work piled up, household chores piled up, self care lacking, husband in opposite room with the toddler, hungry & damn near in tears with what’s on my plate currently. I’m switching off holding twin 5 month olds because they need me to put them back to sleep & that’s my reality right now. Owning a business while raising kids is not talked about enough. It is so so so hard. I’m either feeling like I’m letting my kids down or letting my clients down. When I first found out I was pregnant, I had to reach out to my clients whose wedding would be around their due date to let them know that I had to get that wedding covered and when I found out it was twins, I had to get more covered due to potentially going early and I didn’t want to overdo it. I had some really great responses and I’m so grateful for that and I had some not so great responses & ultimately they were mad at me for the decision I had to make. Which led to me feeling like I had failed them. But something I will never ever back down on- My. Kids. Come. First. Always. Even if they are in the womb still.
Fast forward to me being 31 weeks pregnant and my water breaks. I was supposed to have 7-8 more WEEKS to get things prepped and caught up for work before I was on “maternity leave” & I didn’t get that. Instead my twins were born early, one on oxygen, both in the nicu for a month and a toddler at home who wanted her mom. All while something else traumatic happened in my family during the same time and here I was worrying about how behind I was going to be with work bc I’m the only person in this job of mine.
I just want to shed some light & maybe some words to people out there that we’re all just trying to do our best, raise our babies and share a dream of owning this successful business of mine and pursing both at max capacity. I truly love what I do so so much & I’m so grateful I’m able to do this while be home with my babies. I am just one person, the only mom to my babies, the only wife to my husband and the only employee to this career. Just remember, your vendors are people too & most of them with a family doing their best 🤍🤍 ily all!
