Rare Vision Photography

Rare Vision Photography Lifestyle photographer specializing in families, newborns and branding. Hello, my name is Nicole and I'm the owner/photographer of Rare Vision Photography.

Rare Vision was formed out of my passion for capturing moments and the beauty and uniqueness that God displays in each of them. I'm passionate about photography because it's more than an art form, it's unfolding a story. Stories are full of laughter, fear, fantasy, heartache, mischief, heroes, love, passion and so much more. Photographs capture the great times in a person's story and freezes it in

time for us to remember and savor for years to come. I've enjoyed capturing emotions and events in my own story and would be privileged to capture a special moment in yours.

“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.” - Ansel Adams

A verse in Isaiah stopped me in my tracks this week.

There are so many facets to it—it's mesmerizing how the root of Jesse (Jesus) will be a banner for peoples and nations, painting a picture of hope and belonging that reaches far beyond our everyday. As someone who frames stories through my lens, that image felt like the steady light I try to capture: guiding, true and deeply comforting.

Has a verse stopped you in your tracks lately? Share it below—I’d love to hear.

Halfway through summer already—where did the time go?

This month has been the perfect mix of sun-soaked adventures and slow, lazy days—I've loved chasing golden-hour laughter and savoring quiet afternoons with a camera on my lap. Both have reminded me how important it is to make room for joy and rest in equal measure.

Do you prefer a schedule full of excitement or peaceful, tranquil moments? Drop below!

It doesn't even seem possible that this little cutie is already three years old! Looking back at how this family has changed (and grown) makes me smile—those tiny milestones and everyday giggles are everything. Capturing moments like this so parents can revisit these moments years from now is exactly why I love photography.

Mamas, what’s one moment you wish you had photographed? Tell me below!

If you know me (or you've been around here long), you realize I'm a total bookworm — books are a big part of my everyday. Here are books I'm currently reading:

📖 The Insanity of God by Nik Ripkin
This book was recommended to me by a friend and as I'm reading this man's story find it not only engaging but also challenging.

📖 The New Testament Around the World Edited by Mariam Kamell Kovalishyn
Found this book at my sister's school's bookstore and while it's quite academic love seeing how people of all cultures see the Bible as an authority in their lives.

📖 The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer
This novel set during World War II and modern day was lent to me by a friend and I'm loving the story of a family resilience in the face of adversities then and now.

📖 Fighting Words by Ellie Holcomb
This 100-day devotional has been really encouraging. As a fan of Ellie's music it's cool to read how her faith shapes much of her music.

📖 The Myth of Good Christian Parenting by Marissa Franks Burt and Kelsey Kramer McGinnis
While the authors come from different faith backgrounds, I see their cohesive goal of revealing myths that have been adopted by Christian parents. I've found myself challenged to investigate my own motivations in parenting.

📖 Girl of War by Sara Novic
This novel follows a ten-year-old Croatian girl's childhood as it's shattered by civil war and the results. A truly gripping story.

📖 Formed by Fellowship by Kyle Worley
Current book club read and how spiritual formations are an important aspect of our walk with Christ.

What book would you recommend me to read next or what are you reading right now? Tell me in the comments!

What happens when three generations meet in my new studio space? Pure magic.

I invited my in-laws in to update their portraits — from four grandkids to six, every smile and tiny hand felt like a treasure. Shooting in this cozy space let us mix warm, timeless portraits with the candid, joy-filled moments that tell their story.

See the full session on the blog and tell me — what multigenerational moment would you love to capture? https://rarevisionphotography.com/2026/07/14/from-four-grandkids-to-six-celebrating-three-generations-at-the-studio-grandparent-session/

Summer can flip from chaos to calm in the same day — and honestly, I’m here for those pockets of peace. This week, while my kids are at camp, I’m carving out intentional time to edit galleries, work on new projects for Rare Vision, and get ready for the school-year routine. Reading "The Plan" transformed how I manage my time — it gave me permission to be okay with not being perfect, and I’ll be rereading it often. What calm moments are you stealing this summer, and what are you getting done before school starts?
