Many know that Hawaii is incredibly close to my heart.. I lived there for 5 years in my late 20s, I made friends and chosen family whom I'm still close to now, nearly 15 years later. I spent that time working in non-profits on the island and starting my photography business... Without Hawaii and the life I lead there, I'm not sure if I would have ever started my business... which is going strong 18 years later.
I learned to surf, I developed a love for hiking, I ate so much good food and had so much wonderful time with family and friends. Hawaii gave me Max, my good boy doggo who was the OG . I went from an ok but passionate photographer to a kick ass wedding photographer who ran a successful business... honestly, Hawaii and her people gave me so much, and a piece of my heart will always be there.
Watching the devastation of these wildfires has broken my heart, and being so far away there is only so much I can do to help. One small thing I can do is try and raise some money to help people trying to survive this terrible crisis, and rebuild their lives.
