When we started this session, Poli told me if we didn’t get a smile out of her it would be okay because baby girl just wasn’t feeling up to it! But slowly but surely, I got her out of her shell and lo and behold we did it, we got smiles!!

And that’s my promise to you- I will try my dang hardest to get smiles out of your family- even your shy little ones who don’t want to smile on command. And more times than not, we’ll get those smiles and create those memories ❤️

3 weeks in a row blogging, who am I?! Anyway I am going back and blogging past sessions so yall can see more of my work and this family session was just so sweet and honestly SO FUN.

My role as your photographer is to match your family’s energy- and these boys brought LOTS of energy! So, we played games- run to mom and dad and give them a big hug, have a piggy back ride race! We had fun and got the fun memories 😊 Can I do that for you??

Tonight I was simultaneously reminded of the joy of childhood AND how fast it all goes by ❤️ Henry is 6 years old and the last time I saw him was for newborn pictures. It was one of the earliest sessions I did! But watching these two run around and have fun during our session was so joyful and made my heart happy ❤️

ANNOUNCEMENT TIME! 📣📣📣

Honestly, I don’t even know how to write this caption. My heart is pounding and I’m wondering why am I so anxious?? But I think any big change will do that and that’s exactly what I’m doing in my business- making a big change.

As many of you know, in November 2022 I became a mom to the best baby ever (in my humble opinion). As I was doing more weddings, I found my mind wandering back towards her and Matt, wondering what they were doing. It made me sad to be away from them for too long, especially since I work a standard 9 to 5 job during the week as well. After some soul-searching and discussions with Matt, I’ve decided to no longer take on weddings starting this year. I’ve been thinking about this for a while so my calendar is actually clear of weddings for this year.

Instead, I will be pivoting towards exclusively branding and portrait photography! I love helping small business owners represent themselves through photography and I didn’t want to give up the more personal connection that being a portrait photographer brings. I want to be your photographer for all your special occasions, from maternity pictures all the way up to your family pictures when your kids come home from college.

I don’t know how this is going to go and I know I will be trying lots of new things as I go down this path but for now, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have supported me throughout my wedding photography journey. To mentors, to friends, and to those who trusted me with their images I’m so thankful and proud of what we were able to do together. I loved every minute of it and I loved being a part of people’s special days. Maybe one day I will come back to wedding photography but for now this is the right call.

As I move forward, I hope I can count on your continued support! Please share with your family and friends and anyone who may need a photographer. Well, thats it! Hope you have a great day ❤️

We love a good newborn session around here 👏👏 little Eloise was giving us all sorts of smiles and waves and I am here for it!!

I mentioned this in my stories but I’m so glad I bring my flash to all my in home sessions!! This day was grey and one of the rooms was DARK. I always want to make sure I’m delivering consistent, well lit images to my clients and flash lets me do that!

Screaming a big CONGRATULATIONS to these two sweet friends!! Henry reached out to me about a week and a half ago and asked if I would be available to photograph him proposing to Abbie and of course I said yes! From there, we sneakily planned out how I would capture this proposal and it went off without a hitch (and without Abbie knowing 😂).

I’ve known Abbie since freshman year at Vandy and it made capturing this proposal a bit extra special ❤️ I can’t think of two better matched people and am so excited for the life they build together!

A few outtakes from yesterday’s sweet family session!! I remember taking maternity pictures for Nicole and Alex before Arlo was born and look at them now 🥹 I think that’s one of my favorite things about family pictures is watching families grow in front of my lens ❤️ I can’t wait to meet sweet baby #2! Today, I had the distinct pleasure of capturing an in home newborn session for Martha and Sophie, some of the kindest people around. If you don’t know these two make AMAZING ice cream sandwiches with their business, and Ive done branding pictures for them. But today was all about their love as a new family and it was so beautiful to capture 🥹

I texted Martha and Sophie a couple of previews and told them this image right here is probably one of my favorites I’ve ever taken. It makes me feel calm but also like crying just a few happy tears. And thats what I want- for my images to make you feel something. The only question now is, black and white or color?!

My last wedding of the year was a special one. I have photographed Makenzi and Andrew multiple times (sweetheart session, proposal, engagement, headshots for Andrew’s company and now, their wedding!) and I’ve loved doing it every time! Clients like this don’t come often and I don’t take it for granted. These are the folks who have walked with me side by side as I’ve built my business and with who I’ve become friends.

Not surprisingly, their wedding day was spectacular, and so glamorous but of course, full of love. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to end the year on and I can’t wait to share more! (Side note: with Makenzis amazing laugh, I never thought the first image I shared would be a more serious one but I love it and she (and Andrew, of course) rock this look too!!

Got another branding session under my belt and its a good one!! Tori is one of my favorite videographers to work with! She is so sweet and kind and just such a joy to work with! She and her husband, Garren are a husband wife team and I got the joy of capturing their branding photos today. I love how they turned out and can’t wait to share more!!
