🏁 ’Twas the Night Before Race Day - Evergreen Speedway Edition 🏁
’Twas the night before race day,
And all through the town,
The trailers were loaded,
The tie-downs strapped down.
The race cars were polished,
The fuel jugs were filled,
While drivers lay dreaming
Of passes well-timed and well-skilled.
The crews checked their toolboxes,
Then checked them once more,
Because someone WILL need
That one 10mm socket left on the garage floor. 😂
The helmets were waiting,
The batteries on charge,
Tomorrow the engines
Will be roaring at large.
Soon Evergreen Speedway
Will come back to life,
With crews in the pits
And fans arriving by night.
The grandstands will fill,
The flags will fly,
And the Turn 1 Club crowd
Will have cold Busch Light nearby. 🍻😂
Then engines will rumble,
And echo around,
There’s nothing quite like
That Evergreen sound. 🏎️💨
So here’s to the drivers
Who’ll strap in tomorrow night
May your setup be perfect,
And your race car drive just right.
May your passes be clean,
May the cautions be few,
And may that checkered flag
Be waiting for YOU. 🏁
Most of all, race hard, race safe,
And when the night is all done,
May every driver load up
After one hell of a run.
