Today we proudly celebrate the Stars and Stripes — the enduring symbol of freedom, unity, sacrifice, and the American spirit.

As a first responder-owned and operated business, we are grateful for the men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation, our communities, and our neighbors. The American flag reminds us of the values that bring us together and the sacrifices made to protect them.

Whether flying high above the beautiful landscapes of North Carolina or supporting our communities on the ground, we are honored to serve under the Red, White, and Blue.

Aircraft are being used to support wildland firefighting efforts on multiple wildfires in our state right now. Wildfires are a no-drone zone.

It’s illegal to fly a drone near or over a wildfire in North Carolina.

N.C.G.S. §15A-300.4 -- No person, entity, or State agency shall use an unmanned aircraft system within either a horizontal distance of 3,000 feet or a vertical distance of 3,000 feet from any forest fire within the jurisdiction of the North Carolina Forest Service.

Firefighting aircraft that respond to wildfires fly low in support of ground personnel. Drones can pose a serious threat to pilot and public safety. A drone that disrupts air operations also puts firefighters, residents and property at risk of loss to wildfire.

Remember, wildfires are a no-drone zone. If you fly, we can’t.

For the past two days, Foothills Aerial Services had the opportunity to attend DroneResponders NCCON at the beautiful Centennial Campus of NC State University.

DroneResponders is the world’s leading non-profit program advancing public safety UAS, cUAS & advanced air mobility.

As part of our commitment to supporting public safety agencies, we participated in this premier conference to enhance our knowledge, sharpen our skills, and stay current with the latest advancements in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), counter-UAS technologies, and advanced air mobility.

Throughout the event, we connected with professionals from federal, state, and local public safety agencies, as well as industry leaders from across the country. The conference provided valuable insight into emerging technologies, best practices, and innovative applications that are helping first responders save lives, protect property, and serve their communities more effectively.

At Foothills Aerial Services, professional development is not just a goal—it’s a commitment. Whether serving our commercial clients or supporting public safety missions, we continually invest in training and education to ensure we provide the highest level of service possible.

Mother Nature put on quite a show over Caldwell County last evening!

As a thunderstorm rolled past Lenoir at sunset, the sky absolutely caught fire with incredible shades of orange, red, and gold. The dramatic colors provided the perfect backdrop for Caldwell County’s most visible tribute to America250 atop Hibriten Mountain.

Moments like these are a reminder that sometimes the best views can only be fully appreciated from above.

After several days of rain, it felt great to finally get back in the air and enjoy some sunshine! ☀️🚁

Yesterday, Foothills Aerial Services made a trip to one of North Carolina’s most iconic landmarks—Pilot Mountain. The views were incredible, with lush green landscapes, clear skies, and miles of beautiful scenery stretching across the Piedmont and foothills.

There’s nothing quite like seeing North Carolina from above, and Pilot Mountain never disappoints. We’re thankful for opportunities like these to capture the beauty of our state from a whole new perspective.
