Sometimes it is SO much fun to step outside your comfort zone and just create something different.

A few years ago, I got to create this special senior edit for Rhett — Class of 2024. When it was time for his little brother Tyler’s senior photos, Mom asked if we could bring the idea back for him.

Ummm… YES. 💙🏈

From Rhett’s senior portraits in 2024 ➡️ to his brother Tyler, Senior #9 — Class of 2027!

Same family. Same field. Two completely different senior sessions — and one pretty special full-circle moment.

And Kelly Loken… soak this one in. ❤️ After years of Friday Night Lights, this is the last year your butt will be sitting in those bleachers cheering on one of your boys. Senior #9 is going to make this season a special one for ya. 🥹🏈

Sometimes the projects outside your normal wheelhouse are the ones that are just plain FUN — and sometimes they end up meaning a little more than you expected.

Meanwhile…

Dad’s goofing off.
The big kids are making faces at each other.
The twins just turned one and have recently discovered that sitting still is completely overrated.
Someone’s pulling someone’s hair.
Someone’s crying.
Someone is escaping.
And every time I get everyone almost where I want them… somebody has a different plan. 😂

But you know what?

This is family photos.

Of course we work for that beautiful everyone-together photo for Mom. ❤️ But in between? I’m photographing this.

The belly laughs. The wrestling. The snuggles. The chaos. The baby who absolutely refuses to stay put. Dad getting everybody wound up when we were *this close to having it together. 😂

Because someday these two little guys won’t be running away like a drunk sailor. The kids won’t be picking on each other in quite the same way. And getting everybody together will somehow be even harder than it is right now.

So yes, Mom — we got you some nice photos.

We also got your real life.

Jacky is an absolute BOMBSHELL 🔥 and those boys?! They absolutely adore their mama. 🥹🤍

Getting to photograph this family right at home was SO special. Justin takes such amazing care of their property, and they seriously have their own little oasis right in their backyard — the beach, the gardens, the landscaping… 😍 I LOVE IT ALL.

And these photos?! I couldn't wait another day to show them off.

So screw the algorithm. 😂🙈

POV: Busy season hit Hill Creative 😂📸

Apparently somewhere around July 1st, we hit the ground RUNNING.

20 sessions since July 1st 🤯
7 already this month!

Being busy is a GOOD thing and I am so incredibly grateful. 🤍

BUT — if you’re currently waiting on photos from me… hang in there, gang! 😂

I see you. I know you’re waiting. I’m working my way through the list, and I’M ALMOST CAUGHT UP! 🙌🏻

Some seniors come into their session with a whole vision.

And then there’s Asher. 😂 and literally every guy, honestly. 😂

Alright then, buddy. I got you. 😂

We wandered around downtown, found some good light, some brick, a few cool little corners — and Asher just rolled with whatever I threw at him. And can we talk about that SMILE?! 🤩

Seriously, such a genuinely sweet, easygoing kid. The kind that makes my job ridiculously easy because you can just tell there’s a good human behind that smile. 🤍

Meet Tyler Loken — Class of 2027! Kelly Loken

Tyler is an absolute STUD. 😂 He may be a little too cool for this whole senior-photo thing, but he loves his momma enough that we even managed to get a few real smiles out of him. And I have the proof! 🙌

Senior Sneak Peek! 🎓

What a fantastic evening out on the family farm with Ian! We had the perfect backdrop, an incredible classic Camaro SS, and one of the nicest families you could ask for.

I loved that everyone came along—Jess, Grandma & Grandpa, Roger, Aunt Merry, and the whole crew. It made the evening feel less like work and more like spending time with great people while celebrating such an exciting milestone.

Ian absolutely knocked it out of the park. We laughed a lot, explored the property, and created some images that I think he'll look back on for years to come.

Thanks so much for trusting me with such an important season of life. I can't wait to share the rest! 🎓📸
