I love fishing lures! I love learning which lures are used to catch specific fish, why certain colors work better than others, and how they’re meant to be used. I took this photo because the colors and textures caught my eye — and then I learned these are bottom jigs used for catching Rockfish here on the Chesapeake Bay. 🎣
One of the things I love most about living near the water is that there’s always something new to discover. Every lure, knot, and setup tells a story about the fish, the season, the tides, and the people who know these waters best.
Photography has a funny way of teaching me to slow down and notice the details — and sometimes those details come with a whole new appreciation for Chesapeake Bay fishing culture.
