We raise funds to buy weekend food sacks for children in Stillwater OK. Where We Riding T is a page created out of that question I get asked very often. I enjoy riding motorcycles alone as well as with others. I've created and led multi state women's rides and events since 2009. I will be riding the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge in August 2024 while raising $75,000 for Kickin' Childhood Hunger. Meeting this goal will supply at least 10,000 weekend food sacks for children under 18 years of age. That is one food sack every mile of my 10,000 mile Hoka Hey ride! Tales from the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge road.

Nope! ! Don't like it!

Every time I pulled up to one of these, maybe 97 or more, one lane construction sites during Hoka Hey my brain exploded:
♠️I am losing time. Falling behind!
♠️why am I stopped in the middle of nowhere
♠️Creepy eyes in the woods staring at me
♠️can I p*e before traffic comes
♠️NO cars or lites in site, roll it
♠️what was that noise
♠️should I eat my 4th Frog Fuel of the day
♠️when did my gas light come on
♠️how many gnats are there up here
♠️crap. Is my bike knocking
♠️am I still on the right road
♠️is this the 4th light in 10 miles
♠️if this were a western movie I'd be ambushed
♠️don't fall asleep. Clowns will eat me!

Any of you have these thoughts? Or is this where you bedded down for the night cool as a cucumber?

Where ARE we riding T? 😵‍💫

Whenever I figure out where this was, Ill let you know. 🙄🫣😂

During the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge, I get directions that simply state a number of miles to travel, a direction to turn and the Highway number. It is easy to get absorbed in watching for highway/street names and numbers with no idea what town or state I am in.

On this particular stretch, I could have cared less where I was. It was peaceful and gorgeous.

Enjoy a few seconds of peace today!

Riding the Longest Expansion Bridge in the
Western Hemisphere ... Mackinac Bridge
Connecting the upper peninsula of Michigan.

I love bridges so this was a highlight location along the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge 2026.
This area is one I'd like to return to when I have time to explore.

What a beautiful ride!
This was in Paw Paw WV on Spring Gap Road, Hwy 2.

I rode fast and hard most of the time I was riding the Hoka Hey. First week I was wanting to keep a front position in the pack throughout the ride. After 36 hours off the bike for repairs on day 5, that was out of the question so there were times, I slowed it back to enjoy the beauty they sent us through.

I always have a takeaway from the Hoka Hey. There's lots of time to talk to God. I recall on this morning, the 15th day, one day past the end of the road party and my feelings hurt over it, God said look around, slow your roll and hear me. He taught me a lot about patience, humility and digging deeper on this trip.

Stay ever present in Him! Amen.

How much did it cost me to ride the Hoka Hey?

Over $8,000!

Many people ask me what it costs to ride the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge . I wasn't really sure so I put some calculating to it as you'll see in the illustration. Realize that I already have a bike set up for long distance riding, sleeping gear, etc and I have protective gear as well. In 2024, I had a higher bill due to the need to add those items. We also have to have a bit higher insurance coverage which will vary by person. I didn't include that as I keep a higher level due to the miles I ride. Oops. I see I didn't include the Medjet insurance I chose either. Add about another $350 or so for that.

Oh! And don't forget all the thousands of miles practicing for my Hoka Hey ride! We won't even go there. 😅🤣

I also did several fundraising events which I ex
spent funds to set up or buy merchandise. I didn't include any of that.

Not only are there these expenditures, but many of us lose income if our employment is such! 🤑😪

Hopefully this will help others who may be considering this ride. For some it may be less expensive, others it may have cost more...sorry about those who had to buy new bikes mid ride. Ouch. 😬
