That’s a wrap.
Today, waterfowlers are gathering decoys, loading boats, and heading home with an unspoken longing. It’s my hope that the 2025–2026 duck season brought you endless joy, new memories, dream birds, bands, good company, & first-timer addictions that will last a lifetime.

From early mornings in the hole and watching God-given sunrises, to the camaraderie back at the launch, laughing about the birds you missed just as much as the ones you didn’t.

Wilson’s Snipe. A master of camouflage, speed and elusive agility. Reaching up to 60mph, this little wetland bird can be extremely difficult to photograph. You won’t even know they’re just a few feet away before you hear a “scape-scapeee” sound. Then It’ll fly in a zig-zag pattern after flushing. This is a game bird prized for its flavor.
