Gateway on Broad... Clearing Up the Confusion

Hey everyone! I’ve seen how much attention the last post got thousands of views and plenty of comments. It’s great to see so much interest in what’s happening on Broad Street!

That said, I want to clear up a few things before sharing this new render. The image you’re about to see is AI‑generated, meaning it’s a conceptual visualization, not an official site plan. Other than the confirmed Target store, everything else shown is pure speculation just a creative way to imagine what could fit here.

The goal is to help people visualize possibilities, not announce tenants. So if you see a restaurant, shop, or logo in the picture, please know it’s there for illustration only.

This updated layout is designed a bit more realistically than the last one, but again, it’s just for fun and discussion. Let’s keep the conversation going about what kind of development we’d like to see here, not what’s already confirmed.

Gateway on Broad – From Aerial View to AI Vision

Yesterday morning, I was onsite capturing a full orthomosaic of the Gateway on Broad site, documenting the progress from above. Once I finished processing the imagery, I started wondering what this property might look like when it’s fully developed.

So I ran the aerial map through AI visualization tools to explore a few possible layout concepts. The AI definitely does some strange stuff. It misspells names, creates duplicates, and occasionally gets creative in ways no developer ever would, but it’s still fascinating to see how technology can help us imagine what could take shape here.

These renderings aren’t official plans, but just me playing around to spark ideas. I can’t wait to see what the actual developers come up with for this space and how it will serve our community.

A quick look from above at something new taking shape behind the Rowan County Fairgrounds.
I put the drone up this week to document the progress, and there’s definitely a major project underway — grading, infrastructure work, and a footprint that’s starting to take form.

Rowan County has been investing heavily in workforce development, public safety training, and community infrastructure, and this site appears to be part of that momentum. As always, I’ll keep following the progress from the sky so our community can stay informed and connected to what’s happening in our own backyard.

🌤️ FoodieFest 2026 — Salisbury, NC
What an incredible day at FoodieFest! The energy, the food, the music — Salisbury truly showed out. Miss A and I enjoyed exploring the festival grounds, sampling plates from some amazing food trucks, and soaking in the fun atmosphere.

Of course, I couldn’t resist putting the drones up to capture the action from above — the crowds, the colors, and the vibe that made this event unforgettable.
