I am getting my stuff ready to finish hiking the AT this 29th. I am going NOBO this time. Also, I have a hiking buddy joining me this time. Shout out to Mt. Doc!

Welcome all SOBO through hikers to the first annual AT SOBO RED LANTERN GROUP!
This page is dedicated to all Appalachian Trail SOBO through hikers who hike this trail at a more relaxed pace and who are not concerned with keeping up with the fast hikers.
Please feel free to share your stories, pictures, vlogs and your journal entries about your SOBO through hike on the AT.

Objective: Award and recognize the last person who completes the Appalachian Trail in one year.

Must complete the AT in one full rolling calender year (in 365 days) when Katahdin opens to summit its peak. Must be the last person to complete the AT to receive a Red Lantern. You can start ANY TIME when Katahdin opens during that hiking season.
