2023- What a year! I felt like it was only necessary to do a top nine for 2023 - boy was it hard to choose just nine to highlight on my feed. Without further ado, here are my top nine moments (not in any particular order) to kick off 2024.
1. The Ceremony at the George Peabody Library - Second shooting this wedding with Garnet Dahlia Photography was a dream come true. I remember walking into the Library holding back the tears. I dreamt of shooting in the Peabody for years & walking into what felt like a fairytale was sort of emotional. Anyways, during this ceremony specifically there was so much intentionality behind each of the guests⌠especially the Father of the Bride. This is the Brideâs sweet father fully engaging himself while his daughter is reading her vows to her future husband. I couldnât help but smile during this moment. I could just see him reminiscing on all the years that passed nurturing his little baby girl into who she is today. So sweet - truly.
2. The Brideâs Father Unveiling - This is by far my favorite image of 2023. The way Carlyâs father looks at her as he unveils his not-so-little-anymore baby to Luke, her husband. This unveiling factor needs to happen more in 2024⌠where did this moment disappear to?
3. Paris... ALL of it - Paris was one of my top highlights of 2024. Traveling with my bestie, Abby Leigh Photography, & watch her light up as she documented couples in the city she fell in love with. It was truly magical. And not to mention traveling with Brooke, Brittany & Ally and meeting some amazing photographers along the way. This trip was filled with unknown but it truly was a core memory moment. From planning & documenting Ashlee Kreider & Calvin Proposal in-front of the Eiffel Tower, to watching the Tower Sparkle at night all listing to the âRatatouilleâ soundtrack. Not to forget being offered cheese in return of borrowing a charger. Why canât we trade cheese in America? Anyways, Paris. Magical, a trip I will remember for ever, & I WILL be back.
4. Emotional Moments in Tampa, FL - I JUST posted about this session on my feed this week but just to recap- this session will always hold a special place near and dear. Something just felt so right about every moment of this session. From running through the beach dunes in the two minute rain spray to the sky immediately jumping to this insane sunset. I shedded way too many tears to admit but I just knew I was right where I was supposed to be. It never felt more clear.
5. Tipsy Afternoons Lead to Late-Night Lipstick Stains - This engagement session I did with Cy & Morgan & wow. These two are just so kind, generous, & I am just overall so ready to watch them get married in 2024 at Terrain. This engagement concept was strategically planned out so watching it unfold was so special. Love these two!
6. A NYC Ceremony at Dusk - I documented this sweet wedding with Abby at Brooklyn Botanic Garden & I just loved this ceremony set up along with a beautiful harpist that brought the ceremony together. Regardless, spending some much needed time in the city with my gal - I learned that NYC isnât as scary as I thought it was. Small town girl took on the city. So that was a win- hah.
7. Elopement Inspired Engagement Session - Tom & Alexisâ vision for their engagement session was so unique. I loved their thoughtout plan to turn their engagement session into an elopement inspired look. The wind was a paid actor for their session - like look at Alexisâ sleeves!? The perfect dress to wear with the ocean breeze. I am absolutely so flippinâ excited for their 2024 wedding at 620 Loft and Garden. Counting down the days!!
8. A San Diego Elopement at Sunset Cliffs - My bestie Abi Harte Photography & I put together this beautiful look in San Diego for Dan & Stephanie and wow did it deliver?! Beforehand, Abi & I were racing around the cliffs finding the perfect spot & this is what our heart landed on. During our session, a sweet couple picnicking at the cliffs played music as Dan & Stef enjoyed their moment together. It was so sweet. This whole California trip was a mess to be honest. From our flight being canceled after sitting hours in the airport with four beautiful shoots planned to so many other bits & pieces getting in our way, but spending time with Abi was so needed. Plus, we were able to document a stunning wedding at Wayfarers Chapel. One for the books
9. Maria & Jameâs Engagement Session - This session⌠Gosh guys these two had be in tears actually so many times. From reading their questionnaire that they filled out right after the booked to documenting truly how in love they are with each other to listening to their heartfelt private vows on their wedding day. They are just so intentional with each other. Truly a couple in love. Their engagement session was wrapped around love letters that they wrote for each other on the steps of the Allentown Rose Garden. The way James watched Maria twirl in her dress⌠in love. How is this my job?!
With that being said- there are SO many more amazing 2023 moments. I actually could go on for hours. hank you each and every one of you for making 2023 one of the moment creatively & fulfilling years yet. Thank you Jesus for amazing clients that trust me with such a special era of life full of emotion. I love you all! Letâs do this thang⌠2024!
