My best friend of 27 years is getting married in just a few days and I get to stand by her side as her maid of honor!!!

How lucky am I to have grown up together, taking silly photos as kids, experiencing every milestone, to then photographing her engagement session, and now getting to celebrate one of the biggest days of her life by her side. It feels so full circle, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I love you so much Jessica Nelson. I can’t wait to watch you marry your best friend! 🤍

An early morning that felt miles from the city, yet lives right at its center. Wandering through waterfalls and woods for Sarah & Adam’s engagement session, exploring their favorite area of Central Park (and now mine too!!).

If you feel most at home among the trees like me, just know that wherever you are, you can always find nature, even in the middle of Manhattan. 🌳

Family sessions hold such a special place in my heart because they aren’t about perfection, they’re about presence. The real, fleeting moments in between. The beautiful mess and imperfection is right in front of your eyes, asking to be embraced!!! The way your child reaches for your hand, the running away, the laughter (and tears), the little pauses that go unnoticed. Kids grow and change so quickly, and I believe it’s so important to document life exactly as it is, full of honesty and love.

While the connection and love between two people is always at the heart of a wedding day, I really love to capture the little details that bring the full story to life. It’s something that fuels me creatively, and I believe it’s so important. That same love that exists between a couple is the same love that exists in the way light falls on a tree, or the way your grandparents hold hands as they watch you proclaim your love in front of your favorite people. Love and light is all around us and I’m here to help you see that.

One month until these two get married!

I was so excited about the lighting during Jill & Fab’s engagement shoot that little Amy came through and blurted out how she (I) might p**p herself (myself) from the excitement.

That childlike wonder is one of the many reasons I started photography in the first place. Photography isn’t just a way for me to connect with the natural world and the people I get to capture, it’s also a way to connect with little Amy. To be playful, silly, and laugh a whole lot! Taking pictures brings me into the present, helping me see the world with new eyes every single day.
