Memories from Indonesia Worlshop-My first wild orangutan. Tanjung Puting, Borneo.

I genuinely did not know what to expect. Nothing really prepares you for being this close to one in the wild.
This is a fully mature dominant male. Those large cheek pads are called flanges — only mature males develop them. Every orangutan in the area gives way when he moves.
He sat completely still for almost a minute. Eyes closed. Completely unbothered by us.
One of those moments where you put the camera down for a second and just take it in.
If Borneo is not on your list yet it needs to be.

Send this to someone who needs to go.

4 autofocus settings I rarely change. Every shoot. Every location.

I get asked about my AF setup constantly — on workshops, in DMs, at every destination I shoot. So here it is. These 4 settings are my defaults on Sony before I ever raise the camera. Whether I'm on a tiger safari in Ranthambore, shooting puffins in Iceland, or tracking birds in flight — this is my starting point.
The principles apply to Canon and Nikon too — even though the menu names and specific settings may differ.
Swipe through for the full breakdown.

Setting 1 — AF-C. It's my default for virtually all wildlife and bird photography. I only switch to AF-S for completely static subjects where precise composition matters more than tracking.

Setting 2 — Zone or Expand Flexible Spot. Match it to the environment. Zone for open scenes, Expand Flexible Spot when your subject is surrounded by branches or obstacles.

Setting 3 — Animal and Bird Eye AF enabled. Let the camera use it whenever an eye is detected. For birds in flight against busy backgrounds it won't always lock immediately — but when it does, it's extraordinary.

Setting 4 — Tracking Sensitivity at 3. That's the balance I prefer between staying locked on a subject and reacting to sudden movement. Start here and adjust up or down based on your subject and environment.

Save this for your next shoot and send it to a photographer who's still wrestling with their autofocus.

Which of these 4 do you already use? Drop it below

I got within 10 feet of this ancient creature. It didn't even flinch.

Hawaiian green sea turtles — honu — have been returning to this black sand beach for longer than we can imagine.
I got low, slowed my breathing, and just waited. Shot this on my Sony 100-400mm — even at that focal length, I was close enough to see every scale, every scratch on that shell.

If you've ever photographed wildlife up close, tell me where in the comments — I'd love to hear your story. 👇

Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day.

Found the ultimate frame for St. Paul’s in London. If you head to the walkway at One New Change, you get this perfect symmetry.

The Pro Tip: For an even better view, take the glass elevator to the roof terrace (it’s free!) for a panoramic London sunset.

Save this for your next London photo walk!

If Scotland had a signature view, this might be it.

Shot in Glencoe, Scotland during blue hour using a Haida 10-stop ND filter with Sony A7R IV + 16–35mm lens. I took a long exposure shot to slow down the water and bring out that smooth, flowing effect while keeping the texture in the rocks and mountains intact. The dramatic sky and soft light came together just right for this frame.

What do you prefer in landscape photography — dramatic skies or flowing water?

A very Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there.
Your strength, patience, and love are the quiet force behind so many of our stories.

Timeless. Eternal. Unforgettable.

The Taj Mahal isn’t just a monument — it’s a love story written in white marble.

Commissioned in 1632 by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this masterpiece took over 20 years to complete and brought together artisans from across the empire. Every detail — from intricate carvings to perfect symmetry — reflects the brilliance of Mughal architecture at its peak.

Today, it stands as one of the world’s most iconic symbols of love… and a reminder that some stories truly are timeless.
