Farewells and New Adventures!
Wow! What a year 2020 was! Talk about not seeing any of that coming! Pandemics, lock downs, masks, home school, I know you guys were feeling the crazies too!
2020 was definitely bittersweet. I started the year with full intentions of continuing to grow my photography business. I put so much work into this venture and it only seemed natural to keep trucking away. When the pandemic started and the initial lockdowns happened, I honestly was a little relieved. I had gotten so busy between my photography business and still working my full-time job, that I was missing out on a lot of family time. The momentum of my business had grown and my pictures were finally the quality that I had been working so diligently to achieve. I was so wrapped up in being successful, that I was killing myself. I ignored my health and missed out of valuable time with my kids. So when I knew that I was forced to not do sessions, I was excited to have a break. I was excited to be “locked” in the house with my littles with little to do.
The silver lining of 2020 was I was forced to slow down. I enjoyed not being as busy. I enjoyed the extra time with my family. I thought long and hard about this over the last 7 months, but I have made the decision to close my business and stop taking clients permanently. This was not an easy decision, as I truly love photography and creating memories for others. It is therapeutic to me. A creative outlet. But with the type of photography I like to create, I am away from my family a lot of evenings when I do client work and that is not something I am willing to sacrifice right now. I will continue to photograph my children to create memories for us that I hope to share with you. And I hope those images inspire you to make your own memories.
So with that sad news….I do have some exciting news also! Over the next few months you guys will see me post about some new ventures I’ll be trying out. Over the next few months, I hope to make my full-time job as a nurse practitioner in a clinic a part-time job. That will equal more time to do a few other things I have up my sleeve.
Don’t be surprised if you see me start talking about real estate as I just might get my real estate license and help my husband with his business. And the most exciting of all, I have joined a concierge skin care company called The Skin Clique. I will be using my knowledge and skills as a nurse practitioner to offer skin care services such as facial peels, neuromodulators (aka Botox), and medical grade skin care products. So while I am saying farewell to one venture, I ask you to follow me through my next. It’s so exciting and I can’t wait to share more! Soon I will deactivate my photography page and will be making a new page all about skin! Stay tuned to learn more about the services and amazing skin products I can help you with!
