Sometimes sessions don’t go exactly as planned, and sometimes, they turn out even better.

The wind blew in HEAVY right as we got to The Farm Yard, and our sunshine was quickly covered by the clouds rolling in. We had planned to use the clothesline, and we did, but we also had to improvise a little and make use of the garden.

It wasn’t part of the original inspo, but somehow this session turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined. ✨

I absolutely love when a change of plans turns into a little bit of magic.

I can’t wait to watch this sweet family welcome their second baby! 🥹

The whole gang!! 😍 The Rohrboughs are those clients who turned into friends and truly feel like family! I absolutely love getting to photograph them year after year and watching their sweet babies grow up with each session. 🥹💛

Are these two even real?! 🥹😭💛

At sessions, you really get to learn a lot about your couples, and at this one, I learned that Mary and Ben fit together like true puzzle pieces. The way they were so in sync, the way they interacted, the eye contact, and how genuinely present they were with each other. They listened to each other, naturally showed affection, and just seemed so aware of one another. Their connection felt purposeful and genuine, never like they were just going through the motions for photos. And the way they effortlessly laughed and had fun together made my job so easy.

It sounds so cliché to say, but you can genuinely feel their love just being around them. The kind that makes my job ridiculously easy because all I have to do is capture what’s already there.

Two absolutely beautiful people, inside and out. 💛

These sweet regular faces came all the way to Galveston for beach pictures with me, and LOOK AT THEM. 😭🌊☀️

The cutest family, the most wind blown, hazy, salty air session, and that Galveston sky showing off. So thankful they keep trusting me with these little seasons of life. 🫶🏼

The longer I photograph people, the more I fall in love with the imperfect moments.

The “double chins” from a couple laughing until their cheeks hurt.

The “rolls” when a mama bends down to scoop up her babies.

The windblown hair. The shirt that’s a little untucked. The necklace that shifted. The kids looking everywhere but the camera. The goofy faces the wild child just had to make.

I love all of it.

Yes, the perfectly posed, everyone smiling at the camera photo is beautiful. But it’s those in between moments that really are it.

When I’m 80 years old and all I have left are photographs to remember my life by, I don’t think I’ll care if my hair was perfect or if everyone was looking at the camera.

My one wish, as both a mom and a photographer, is for every family I photograph to someday see themselves through this same lens. To give themselves and their kids a little more grace. To embrace the giggles, the chaos, the cuddles, the wandering eyes, and every beautifully imperfect moment in between. 💛
