To wrap up 2025, I want to share my favorite photo session of the year. I took so many photos this year, and loved them all, but this one was extra special. 📷🌻
I had the opportunity to photograph my sister's engagement in a sunflower field! The same sunflower field I have taken her photos at over the last few years.
Her fiancé and I came up with a plan, and he dropped off her ring to me a few days before the big day. I brought the ring to the session in my camera bag.
When they arrived, I casually put my bag down and invited them to put any phones, car keys, or any extra things in my bag. I secretly showed her fiancé where to find the ring when the time was right.
We started the session as normal. Some tradional photos, mixed with some fun prompts. The lighting was perfect, and the sunflowers were stunning.
We changed locations in the sunflower field and I gave her fiancé the signal. I recorded the whole thing on my phone with a tripod. I told my sister it was for behind the scenes marketing, and she bought it!
I started to get excited, because I knew what was about to happen. I gave them a prompt to stand back to back, hold hands, let go, walk forward, and on the count of 3 to turn around. As I counted, her fiancé went down on one knee, she turned around, and to her surprise, he was proposing to her! She was suddenly filled with joy! Of course she said yes!
The next few minutes were filled with laughter, and happy tears. I kept capturing this beautiful moment with tears of joy in my eyes. My baby sister was now engaged!
I was so grateful to capture this beautiful moment for my sister and her fiancé. It was truly special day!
