Last fall, I met up with Julia and Scott at one of their favorite Jersey City bars, The Lighthorse Tavern, for oysters and fries. Afterwards, we took a stroll around the neighborhood, stopping for some portraits along the waterfront and taking some time to really just enjoy the beautiful weather and get to know each other.

My favorite fun fact was learning they keep a running tab on the delivery robots in the city and have a shared note with friends so they can all report back on sightings - so of course, when we saw the little robot with heart eyes, we needed to time it right for a photo. I can’t wait to celebrate them again in a few weeks!

Real talk though: The hardest part about photographing so many wonderful couples is that I have such a backlog of images to share publicly - please know if I haven’t shared your session, it is in no way a reflection of you and simply because I channel most of my energy towards admin work and galleries to make sure I’m meeting deadlines and things are running smoothly behind the scenes.

Kinda chic to be late to trends… 😅.

Whether you’re eloping or inviting 300 of your closest friends, starting a business or celebrating your degree, hosting a party for your pet or just inviting them to join in portraits, the most important thing is to lean into what makes you you. When your personality is allowed to shine through your wedding or session, you’ll cherish your gallery all the more because it shows exactly who you and your people are.

TBD on whether I delete this because trends shift faster than I can keep up with lol.

Nicole and Drew got married at a local Catholic Church before celebrating with their family and friends at Penn Oaks Golf Club that afternoon - but first, we had time to walk through the grounds and grab some portraits of just the two of them.

Things I’m not going to do on your wedding day:

1. Toss your things in the air for the vibe - unless we specifically talk about it. Bouquets are expensive, your invitations are fragile and the last thing I want to do is ruin something you care about because I was trying to do something unique. This also goes for hanging your dress, suit, or shoes from unusual spots.

2. Ask you to lay on the ground in your wedding attire - that s**t is expensive! Floors are dusty and grass stains. If you want to do it, fine, but I will never suggest it first.

3. Tell your family they can’t take photos throughout the day. These are their memories too - and while I will gently suggest they should be present as much as possible, I won’t stop them. I *will* however ask them not to lean into the aisle during key moments.

4. Ask you to do something I wouldn’t do myself. I won’t ask you to stand in a precarious spot, hang out of windows, or get into moving water unless I’m going with you because that’s not fair. Safety comes first.

5. Drag you away from genuine moments - this should be self explanatory. A staged portrait will never beat your grandmother crying over seeing you for the first time and we can and *should* let you have every genuine interaction and moment you can.

6. Make a big deal if we’re behind on the timeline. Who cares about ten minutes in the grand scheme of things? If portraits run long with your family, we’ll make it up later. This is also why I build padding into every timeline so we all have room to breathe.

It’s shore wedding season! Every detail of Kerry and John’s wedding felt like a fairytale moment, from stunning jewelry and invitation suites to gorgeous florals, all the way down to the Disney themed reception details. And salt water taffy as a favor? Perfect.

Some moments from N + R’s wedding day in Philly featuring the stunning backdrop of the Cambria hotel and Cescaphe’s Tendenza. I have to say - all of the florals I’ve seen this year have been stunning so far, and ranunculus might be becoming one of my favorite flowers.

The most important thing to N + R was enjoying themselves, so we squished as many formalities into the start of the day so that after their ceremony, they could fully immerse themselves with their family and friends. Without a camera hanging around for the later portions of the night, they were both able to truly unwind and enjoy themselves (and truly, we’ll never say no to an early night).

What’s the weirdest spot you’ve been served a vendor meal? Mine is being told I could eat in the emergency staircase, on the floor, with no silverware. This was a four star restaurant comparatively.

It’s wedding day for Nicole and Rachael! I had the best time walking around Wissahickon Valley Park with them this fall (and obviously my favorite part was meeting Calvin and Lorraine).

Can’t wait to celebrate with them today!
