What began as two spontaneous moments with Alina transformed into this visual study of contrasts. In one sequence, she wraps herself in a caramel fleece blanket just after returning home from work; in another, she transforms with a structured gray ensemble that perfectly balances architectural lines with flowing movement.

Beyond her natural ability in front of the camera, Alina brings her full artistic background to every shoot. As a talented painter and photographer herself, she instinctively understands composition and light in ways that elevate every frame. Her background in visual arts gives her this rare ability to both embody and help create the visual narrative simultaneously.

This shoot exemplifies what makes collaborating with multidisciplinary artists so special. The way Alina manipulates fabric, finds unexpected poses, and transforms everyday moments into cinematic frames speaks to her creative versatility. Shot entirely on Kodak Portra 800, these images capture the interplay between an artist's technical understanding and her pure emotional expression.

What the camera captures but words struggle to convey is Alina's extraordinary spirit. Beyond her artistic talents lies a heart of genuine warmth and resilience. She approaches every interaction with thoughtful presence, listening intently and sharing generously. Her deep blue eyes mesmerize you with her endless creativity, showcasing her inner beauty that matches her outer beauty. Despite facing significant challenges in her life journey, she maintains this remarkable lightness, is quick to laugh (at my terrible jokes), endlessly curious, and unfailingly supportive of fellow creatives. Having lost everything from family to friends and still finding meaning in life and purpose, It's this inner radiance that truly elevates every shoot, creating an atmosphere where authentic moments flourish and creativity flows effortlessly always through her. One of the few souls I'm always thankful for having the privilege of meeting.

🏙️ URBAN TIDES🌊

What started as a casual dock shoot transformed when Alina revealed this stunning gray ensemble she'd been saving for a Miami rainy day. The structured strapless top with its architectural pleating and wide-leg pants creates this beautiful silhouette against Miami's skyline the perfect counterpoint to the organic flow of the water.

I love how film captures the subtle tones of the fabric somewhere between silver and slate depending on how the golden hour light catches it. Shot on Kodak Portra 800, the images maintain that dreamy quality while the outfit brings a contemporary editorial edge that showcases Alina's versatility as a model. The golden hour with her perfect blue eyes, shade of red lipstick, and windswept blonde hair melted the film into a perfect composition.

The wind coming off the bay became our unexpected collaborator, creating movement in her hair and fabric that balanced the structural elements of her pose. These moments of perfect tension between stillness and motion are what I'm always searching for in a shoot, (it also helps to be in the flight path of an international airport). My many years as a handheld camera operator always allows me to be quick on my feet, combined with Alina's endless creativity and talent, makes any photographer world class, even with an old film point and shoot.

🌅 GOLDEN HOUR HARBOR 🌊

This impromptu series happened when Alina came home from work on a chilly Miami day. Without any planning, she grabbed her caramel fleece blanket and we headed to the dock for what turned into pure magic. Shot entirely on Kodak Portra 800 with my Canon Sureshot Owl, the warm tones of the blanket against the cool blues of the bay created that perfect contrast I'm always chasing.

I love how these moments capture Alina's natural ability to transform everyday objects into artistic elements. One minute she's just arrived home, the next she's creating these stunning compositions where the flowing texture of the blanket aided by the winds of Biscayne Bay plays against the structured lines of the dock and city backdrop.

What makes working with Alina special is how she brings such authenticity to every frame, from the contemplative pose sitting on the dock to her genuine smile catching the last rays of sunlight. No makeup team, no elaborate setup, just pure creativity unfolding in real time. Her being a composer of creativity always helps break up any monotony and creative block, plus she showed me a way to make coffee that I'll never forget, even for a Colombian like me, it was trau... I mean gangster. It's called the "Ukrainian Express" just throw the coffee grounds directly into a cup with hot water and drink it, grinds and all! Very wallet & eco-friendly 🥲 When I first saw her do this, my Colombian coffee soul almost left my body. But it all started with her blanket and coffee in hand literally the first frame of the roll I scanned it here.

Music: De Pelicula by Naty Ash

This editorial 'Entre Olas y Luces' captures the duality of an artist who moves effortlessly between worlds. From songwriter to actress to model, Naty embodies the fluidity of creative expression. I wanted to showcase the contrast between vulnerability and strength, between the waves and the spotlight.

Working with Naty was pure magic, we shot this collection between sunset and twilight a couple of months apart, letting the water reflect both her power and softness. Her tattoos tell stories just like her lyrics do, visual poetry complementing her musical and life journey.

'De Pelicula' translates to 'Movie-like' and that's exactly what this collaboration felt like: cinematic, emotional, and larger than life. This is just the beginning of showcasing the many dimensions of the incredible talent Naty has as an artist.

Midnight ocean sessions are a different kind of magic. This night shoot with Naty was about capturing that moment when vulnerability meets power, where the water meets the sand, where night meets starlight.

I wanted to showcase how Naty transforms in her element, from the playful laughs captured in the water to the intense, commanding presence with the blazer against the dark backdrop. Her lyrics in 'De Pelicula' talk about fantasy becoming reality, and that's exactly what we created here a dreamscape that feels both cinematic and raw.

The transition between the gold swimsuit and black blazer represents the duality in her artistry of model and singer, the warmth of her sensual melodies against the edge in her lyrics. The sand-covered shots were completely unplanned just pure artistic instinct as the tide rolled in. I left a small BTS video for last 😉

What fascinates me about Naty is her ability to transform within a single moment, from vulnerable to commanding, from playful to intense. In these nighttime ocean shots, you can see how she embodies the contrasts in her music, one minute submerged in emotion, the next rising above it all. 'Fugaz de película pero fugaz' fleeting like a movie scene but still fleeting, perfectly describes both this shoot and the ephemeral magic we captured between waves, flash and moonlight.

Every tattoo tells a story, just like every song she sings shares a memory. Naty Ash in her element.

(Note: This was the fastest photoshoot I've done this year, it took me longer to park and eat the empanada she bought me than it did to get these shots probably in 20 minutes.)

When two creatives like Naty Ash and I connect, the energy is unstoppable. Born in Pereira, Colombia, and having traveled the world, Naty brings a unique blend of Latin rhythms and global flair to everything she does. This shoot was no exception; it was quick, fun, and effortless. It’s incredible how smoothly everything flowed when we were on the same wavelength, capturing her vibrant spirit with every click.
