Today marks the one year anniversary of the senseless shooting at sandy hook elementary school. Shortly after, an older man came to TheLoft SoundStudio looking to record a tribute song. At the time, we were working mostly with kids- and were hesitant to record the song thinking that someone was trying to use the tragedy to gain popularity for themselves. After weeks of pushing to come in, Patrick Joseph Connolly, a blue collar man old enough to retire but still having to work to support his family, came in to record "Day Of Angels". I am grateful to have been a part of the most powerful, well written, and sincere tribute song in decades, yet saddened that we ever had to do this song in the first place.
