It’s the FRIDAY FIVE! This week, we’re featuring Dr. Viren Kaul, or as most people know him, VK, Chief of Medicine at Crouse Health!
As Chief of Medicine, VK plays an important role in caring for our community and helping lead the physicians and medical teams who do the same every single day.
One of the things I’ve also admired about VK is his ability to connect with people well beyond the walls of the hospital. Through Viren Kaul, MD | All.Things.Critical.Care, he’s built his own online community and following, using his platform to share knowledge, perspective, and a little bit of life along the way. In a world where medicine can sometimes feel complicated or intimidating, there’s something pretty powerful about a physician who makes an effort to connect with people where they are.
And while putting together this week’s FRIDAY FIVE, I enjoyed getting to know even more about the person beyond the title. VK has a genuine love for Central New York, the people who call it home, and the community he and his family have made their own.
He lives in LaFayette and, despite a career that comes with some pretty significant responsibilities, you quickly get the sense that VK really appreciates the people, places, and simple things that make life here special.
That’s one of my favorite things about the FRIDAY FIVE.
Getting beyond what someone does and learning a little more about who they are and what inspires them.
