I’ve seen many roundhouses, but a double turntable setup is a rare find! 🤯🚂

A step back in time to South Boston, late 1960s. 📸 This is the locomotive inspection pit at the Dover Street engine terminal, looking south toward the roundhouse. You can almost smell the diesel and grease in the air.

A special thanks to the family of the late Jack Alexander for making this piece of rail history available. It’s a rare look at the 'underworld' of these massive machines. 🚂🇺🇸
