Golden Eagle Photography Club

Golden Eagle Photography Club This group is for hobby photographers of all experience levels at Golden Eagle, including cell phone photography.

This is a place to share your work and show the beauty of the world we live in. There are no limits on photography subjects in this group. Due to the Covic-19 pandemic, the best we can do at this time is to post our best pictures of the month for our monthly contest before we start meeting at the Golden Eagle Country Club. In the meantime, if you have recommendations for field trips and have key speakers via Zoom, please let us know. This is a closed group and you cannot join by simply asking.

Today, contact Jim Brown at [email protected] for you to join our new FSU/OLLI Photography Club in Tallahassee

We are thrilled to announce the formation of the FSU/OLLI Photography Club in Tallahassee! This club is designed to foster a love for photography through the use of cell phones, compact cameras, and/or DSLR cameras. By becoming a member of our group, you'll impress your customers, family, and friends with your newfound ability to continuously capture stunning photos.

What We Offer:

• Monthly Meetings: Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to join us for meetings where we share knowledge, critique each other’s work, and collaboratively enhance our photography skills.

• Photo Field Trips: We will organize exciting field trips, allowing members to practice their craft in various settings while enjoying social interactions with fellow photography enthusiasts.

• We look forward to embarking on this exciting journey together!

Upcoming Class: Digital Photography for Everyone

If you're interested to further master your camera experience, join us for the in-person "Digital Photography for Everyone" course on the following dates at FSU/OLLI: February 19, February 26, March 5, March 9, March 26, and April 2 . This class will cover basic camera operations and include classroom critiques of your photos.

Hurry, as space is limited to just 15 participants for this class, call 850-644-7947 or 850 644 3520 to secure your spot. The instructor, Bob O’Lary, boasts over 52 years of diverse experience in the field of photography. His journey began in 1973 when he landed his first photography job. In 1988, he started learning Photoshop, and he embraced the digital age with his first digital camera in 2003. Bob’s introduction to computing started with an Apple II, followed by a Macintosh the same year he began mastering Photoshop. Since then, he has continued to evolve and adapt in this dynamic industry!

SEPTEMBER PHOTO CONTEST. SUBMIT YOUR ONE COMPLEMENTARY COLORS PICTURE BY AUGUST 31 FOR OUR PHOTO CONTEST.

The Contest is now open for submissions for our monthly photo contest. You may submit 1 entry by no later than August 31st at 5 PM -- Don't be late, enter today.

Please include your name in the body of your email to [email protected].

Voting will be from Friday, September 3rd until Friday, September 11th at 9pm
Watermarks and digital frames are NOT accepted!

Complementary colors are two colors opposite each other on the color wheel:
* Yellow and purple
* Blue and Orange
* Red and green

Complementary colors are often used in design, other visual arts and also photography. They create a natural (and strong) contrast that makes both the colors brighter and more vivid.

It is fun to go full saturation with complementary colors to see how the two colors pop against each other but be careful not to create a photo that is too busy. The stronger your colors, the more minimalist your subject should be.

Keep in mind that your complementary colors do not have to be highly saturated. You can also play with less vibrant colors and still have your two colors to subtly complement each other.

Looking forward to posting your pictures for this September contest.
