Great day of searching for and collecting the acorns of bluff oak, Quercus austrina. This much misunderstood species can be found growing above waterways across the southeast. I’ll be visiting most of the known sites this October with Ron Lance, Emily Ellingson from Polly Hill, and M, Alex and Connor from the The Holden Arboretum.
