Some families remind us that a full life and an intentional life can exist at the same time.
For this edition of Behind the Cover, I had the privilege of photographing the Torres family for Tarpon Springs Living Magazine.

Melissa and John are raising three children while navigating demanding careers, entrepreneurship, school schedules, traditions, faith, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with family life.

But as I read their story, beautifully written by Valerie Gentry, one thing stayed with me:
Their goal has never been to build a life around success. It has been to build a life around what matters most.

Family dinners. Friday movie nights. Birthday traditions. Faith. Community. Making room for each child to be known for exactly who they are.

And it reminded me of something I see so often through my camera:
Connection isn’t created during a photography session.

It is built in all those ordinary moments that happen long before I arrive.
The camera simply gives us a way to see it. 🤍

I’m beginning a new series: Behind the Cover.
As the cover photographer for local North Pinellas publications, I have the privilege of meeting remarkable people and families whose stories extend far beyond a single photograph.
 Through this new series, I’ll take you beyond the published cover—sharing more of who they are, the meaningful stories behind each feature, and what I experienced while creating their portraits. 
For the first Behind the Cover, I’m introducing Principal Greg Logan—a leader whose journey has been shaped by service, education, relationships, and family.
 During our portrait session, I had the opportunity to see beyond his professional title. I saw a husband and father whose patience, empathy, and consistency are deeply connected to the way he leads his school community.
 At the heart of Greg’s vision is a meaningful belief: every student deserves to feel seen, every family deserves to feel included, and the strongest communities are built through relationships that last.

Motherhood is the greatest gift we could have ever asked for, but also the hardest role we will ever carry. Alongside all the love and joy come sleepless nights, worries, sacrifices, and the responsibility of raising tiny humans.

And in the end, it’s our love that will guide them — helping them grow into kind, strong, and beautiful human beings. 💛

There are stories that stay with you long after the session is over 🤍
This is . He is minimally verbal and on the autism spectrum, but through music, he speaks to the world in the most beautiful way. Watching him play the piano and connect with those around him was something truly special to witness.

His performances go far beyond music — they bring comfort, connection, and awareness to so many people in our community. From hospitals to public spaces, Milosz continues to show that autism does not define limitations. It reveals beautiful gifts when there is acceptance, opportunity, and support.

His mom, Bozena Gasior , is currently encouraging the community to help nominate Milosz for the 2026 Dougie Awards through the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism — and I would truly love to help support and celebrate his journey. 💙
