Kim Lloyd Photography

Kim Lloyd Photography Tampa family photographer focused on capturing joyful, authentic images that tell your family's story Sessions are very relaxed, casual and most important, FUN!

My name is Kim and I am a lifestyle family photographer serving the Tampa Bay area. What I am offering you is more than just a photography session...it is time spent with the people you love most, doing what you love to do together....and all of it captured for you to relive again and again. Creating images that you will return to when you want to remember what your children were like at that stag

e ....the toothless grin, the pout, the smile that melts your heart. And through it all, capturing the love you all have for one another. My photography style is best described as 'lifestyle', meaning there won't be any awkward poses or begging for smiles from your little ones...only natural interactions between you and your family. Call or email me for more details! I would love to talk with you about your session!

Growing up in the 80's, I spent the majority of my childhood outside. Didn't matter what we were doing. I just wanted to feel the grass under my feet and hear the birds.

None of that changed as I transitioned to adulthood and had kids.

The kids, however, had other ideas. Florida is hot. And it has mosquitos. A lot of them. At least 80 different species.

So we had to come up with some truly fun activities to do to keep them outside and one of our favorite things to do together as a family was kayaking. Springs, lakes, rivers, oceans...we paddled everywhere and so many of my favorite memories are from these trips.

If your family enjoys adventures and needs a new activity, check out my newest blog post on 5 things to pack for a Tampa kayaking trip with kids (link in comments).

'I'll figure out Fall photos later.'

Said in July. Then August. Then 'okay it's September but I still have time.' Then mild panic in October.

I'm not judging. I have done this exact thing in other areas of my life approximately one million times.

But if any part of you is already thinking about Fall photos and then immediately thinking 'I'll deal with that once school settles down,' just know that Today You is absolutely setting up Later You for a stressful Tuesday night of scrolling through photographers with zero availability.

Later You deserves better.

Details in the comments if you want to actually take this off your list now.

If you've been telling yourself you'll figure it out later, this is your gentle nudge 💛.

Whether you've already been thinking about it or this is the first time it's crossed your mind , I'm here if you have questions.

I know money and timing are real things. I'm a mom too, and I will never pretend that 'just book it' is always that simple.

But I want to flip the way you might be thinking about this for a second.

Booking early isn't adding something to your plate. It's taking something off it.

When fall arrives and everyone around you is scrambling to find a photographer with any availability, you're already done. It's handled. You get to be the person who is not stressed about this.

The Christmas in July offer exists because I wanted to make it genuinely easy to say yes now, before life gets loud again.

If you book before September 1st, you get the full edited gallery included. Every moment that mattered from that session, all yours.

The session itself can happen any time before the end of 2026. So you're not committing to next week. You're just committing to not leaving this chapter undocumented.

If you have questions, just send me a message. No pitch, just a conversation.

The hesitation I hear most often isn't 'I don't want photos.'

It's 'I just haven't figured out the timing yet.'

And I completely understand that. But here's what I want you to sit with:

There is no perfect window coming. There's just right now, and then later when your kid is already a little different than they are today.

The phase they're in at this exact moment (how they only wear dresses or listen to female musicians or laugh with their head thrown back)...that's already on a clock.

Booking a session doesn't have to be a big deal. It can just be the small, quiet decision that means you actually have this chapter when you want to look back on it.

Yearbook photos and Personality Portraits are not in competition with each other.

I want to say that clearly, because I think some moms feel like choosing one means dismissing the other.

Yearbook photos do exactly what they're supposed to do. They go in the school records, they mark the year, they're consistent and reliable.
Personality Portraits do something completely different.

They're for you. For your wall. For the box you'll open in twenty years and feel everything all at once.

One is a document. The other is a treasure.

Both have a place. You don't have to choose, and you don't have to feel guilty for wanting both.

The reason I started offering Personality Portraits isn't a complicated business story.

It's just that I kept seeing the same thing happen.
Parents would book a full family session, the kids would be kids - wiggly and unpredictable and full of personality - and at the end we'd have beautiful images of the family together.

But the photos that made parents actually tear up? They were almost always the ones where I caught a kid mid-laugh, or staring off at something, or doing the exact face they make at home when nobody thinks anyone is watching.

Those were never the 'hero' shots of the session. But they were the ones that meant the most.

So I started building a session around exactly that.

No family coordination required. Just a kid and a little time for them to be them.

Five minutes is enough when that's the whole point.

Let me tell you what a Personality Portrait actually is, because I don't think the name tells the whole story.

It's a five-minute session. Just your child. No family coordination, no outfit matching, no studio setup with props they're supposed to pretend to interact with naturally.

$50 gets you two digital files. The session is focused entirely on one thing: who your kid is right now.

Not their 'best' version. Not the version that holds still. The actual version. The one with the opinions and the expressions and the specific energy that belongs only to this age and this chapter.

It is not a yearbook photo. It is not a replacement for a family session. It is its own thing entirely.
It's what you pull out in twenty years and show their partner and say 'this was HIM, this was exactly who he was.'

If you want to see what these look like in practice, the link is below.

Vacation season is here! Instead of trying to get that "perfect shot", focus instead on taking pictures of things that will help you remember how it felt to be in that moment. Photographs are just Time Machines, if you really think about it.
