Circle of life. This parent found one of its chicks dead. Gulls were eyeballing. It seemed this arent was trying to revive the chick for a few minutes, then finally gave up.

It is Black Skimmer baby season. These birds are so protective. If you get too close, they will tell you by dive-bombing.
