I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. Here’s the honest story of why it took five years. 🖤

When I first started building The Posing Collective, I had one kid and a dream, and what I thought was a pretty reasonable timeline. Boy, was I wrong.

Life happened. Another baby. Then another. Seasons where I was pouring everything into my family and my clients, and there was simply nothing left at the end of the day to give to this. So I’d set it down. Tell myself I’d come back when things slowed down.

Things never really slow down, do they.

But I kept coming back anyway. Because I remembered what it felt like early in my career when I invested in education for the first time, and it completely changed everything for me. I wanted to give that to someone else. I just couldn’t seem to get there.

And then Jovie came. Maternity leave gave me the stillness I needed to finally finish what I started. And I truly believe that was not a coincidence.

There is a time for everything. This was mine.

They’ll teach you the technique. The settings, the gear, the lighting. But they won’t show you what to say when a family of five is staring at you waiting. Over a decade into this work, and if I’m honest—the thing that has sustained my business year after year is families.

The ones who invite me back again and again.
The ones who trust me to capture this season—and then the next, and the next.
The ones who value remembering, not just documenting.

Watching kids grow, families expand, dynamics change, and love deepen through the years is something I never take lightly. Being able to look back at galleries from years past and see that growth is one of the greatest gifts of this job.

To the families who have been faithful—thank you. You are truly the backbone of my business and the reason I get to keep doing what I love. Your trust, loyalty, and commitment to preserving your story means more to me than you know.
