Life happens, and somewhere along the way, sharing fell behind. I’ve still been behind the camera, documenting the moments that matter, just a little quieter than usual. Lately, senior sessions have picked up, but I’ve also had the honor of capturing new marriages, new life, and the start of brand new chapters. This one feels especially meaningful.

Jacob is stepping into his senior year at THS, a season full of anticipation, decisions, and defining moments. When we talked about what this session should look like, he didn’t want something staged or expected. He wanted something honest. Something that reflected who he already is.

So we went to a place that matters to him. The fire department.
Jacob serves as a volunteer, showing up for his community in ways that go far beyond what most people his age are doing. In between school, practices, and everything that comes with being a senior, he’s answering calls, training, and choosing to be someone others can rely on in their hardest moments.

This session wasn’t just about documenting his senior year. It was about honoring the character he’s already built, the responsibility he carries, and the path he’s beginning to shape for himself.

Jacob, this is only the beginning of your story, and if this chapter is any indication, it’s going to be a meaningful one.

Working with other photographers is such a treat. There's a hidden language we both understand and moving through the session is almost always a breeze. After several weather reschedules, we were finally able to get together at a mountaintop lake for these precious moments. The Bush family is so connected. It's much deeper than simply existing together. They played through the tall grass and along the lake without needing guidance. The love they have for each other was evident. And that's what sessions like this are all about after all. Capturing the love and connection between each member of the family.

I will always be the first one to jump on board with a senior dog session. I will stay patient and smile with you all because that’s what dog people do. I’ll run and play and give them all pets for the good pups they are. I’ll grin while I edit those happy photos and every single time I will feel a little jealous that I didn’t get to do this with my old man. So, I promise you with all my heart that I will take sessions like these seriously and always pour my whole heart into them. Because what a gift images like these are in the days we dread. 🐾 💛

I love a surprise and there's a big one I can finally share. Last week, these two eloped! Elopements are one of my favorite things to shoot and this announcement session was everything. Any chance to celebrate love should be taken and I wish Grayson and Isabella all the happiness in the world.

It was such a joy to follow the Briley family around the lake documenting their littles. I love watching kiddos experience a new location for the first time. It brings the magic back to ordinary places. I love capturing moments just how they are. No shouting, "Say Cheese!" Just real smiles and real connection with real families.

Jillian's cap and gown session featured a rainbow and literal flower field on the front lawn. I was so nervous we might get rain but it didn't dare interrupt her moment. Mother Nature was working for her. That has felt like the theme with all of her sessions. From the vibrant and ethereal sunset this fall to the daisies that sprouted at the school, it's as if her personality blooms in everything around her. Congratulations Jillian!

Taking Lane's cap and gown photos was easy. It was a laid back afternoon close to home (were almost neighbors) with an old truck and cow field. If there was ever a senior I could empathize with, it's Lane. I had an eerily similar and hectic end to my year with more traveling and running around than expected, so it was great to take a slow moment and document this big one. I know his mama is proud of him and I hope these photos brought happy tears! Congratulations Lane

Traveling the past week has really messed up my posting schedule so today we are back on track with our recent grads. Maddie came with a few props, but more importantly, she had her sister with her for these cap and gown photos. That is a bond that can never be replaced. The most special addition to a cap and gown shoot. Congratulations Maddie!

Keeping with our grad posts, this one is all about Jordan. She recently decided to continue her education at Virginia Tech, keeping her family tradition of agriculture alive. This year has flown by. It feels like we were just eating apples in an orchard at the start of the school year and now she’s officially a THS Graduate. Congratulations girlie!
