The American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) is the smallest Falcon in North America, they range over all of the States. However their numbers have declined in recent years due to less farm lands that they rely on for food and breeding habitat. The plains of Colorado -

When you think of Colorado your first thought is probably ā€œMountains!ā€ At least thatā€™s what I used to think, now my thoughts of Colorado are endless plains, cows and more cows, beautiful sunsets, the sounds of meadowlarks calling every evening, the smells of the country (good and bad), a lifestyle of hard working people, and now most importantly Family. Gods blessings are endless.

Piping plovers are one of many endangered birds on the beaches of New Jersey. Seeing these plover chicks run as fast as they can was definitely a highlight for me.
