Bring me the wild kids.

The ones who kick up dirt with their bare feet, climb the fence when nobody’s looking, and come home with sun-kissed cheeks and grass stains on their jeans.

The ones who can’t sit still, who are always chasing something just out of reach, whose laughter is louder than the wind and whose curiosity is bigger than the world around them.

Bring me the boys who make their mamas tired and proud all at once.

Because one day the dirt will wash away, the boots will be outgrown, and these wild little years will become stories.

But for now, let them run.

I thought about this on my drive home.

How much trust it takes to book a photographer you’ve never met in a place that isn’t home.

This mama was visiting San Diego with her little boy and somehow found her way to me. For an hour, I got to witness the way she loved him.. the moments that would have otherwise lived only in memory.

Every time a family chooses me to document a chapter of their story, especially while they’re traveling and making memories somewhere new, I’m reminded how grateful I am for this work.

I almost waited.

But experience has taught me that these seasons move quickly. One moment we’re talking about summer plans, and the next the fields have turned gold and another year has quietly slipped by.

No built-in client base, no familiar faces, no guarantee that this dream would survive starting over from scratch.

What I found instead was community.

As many of you know, I’m a clinical counseling graduate student.

What you may not know is that the same part of my heart that led me there is the very thing this work has always been built on.

My art has always been about intention and presence. About noticing what often goes unseen.

Clinical counseling is teaching me how to hold space for people in their complexity, their stories, their pain, their becoming & in many ways, that’s what I’ve been doing here all along. Just being witness to your story in a way that feels honest and safe.

Mama, I know how loud it can get. How the days blur and the needs never stop.

But this is still yours.
This stillness. This connection. This deep, steady knowing that nothing else matters the way this does.
