On Chicago’s South Side, something incredible is about to open.

I had the chance to fly a drone over the new Obama Presidential Center in historic Jackson Park, and the views are stunning. The design has a bold, brutalist feel that really stands out against the park and the lakefront, and it’s amazing to see how this campus fits into such an important piece of Chicago history.

The Center officially opens to the public on June 19, 2026 as a new museum and gathering space honoring President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
