Pretty portraits are important. But if I’m being honest, they’re only part of what I want you to walk away with.

I want you to feel comfortable. Taken care of. At home. For me, the session starts long before I ever pick up my camera.

The portraits are what you’ll hang on your walls. But how you felt while creating them matters just as much to me.

I promise, I expected the chaos the minute you mentioned you had a toddler.

The thing about me as a family photographer is that I stress the importance of real pictures. The kind you look back on 15 years from now and say, “Yep… that’s my baby.” How and why? Because I believe that kids photograph better when you let them be kids.

Parents… tell me the funniest thing your toddler has ever done in front of a camera.

Some folks ask who carries all the heavy stuff. Since chemo… you’re looking at him.

Turns out marrying me came with a surprise job description.

Now, let’s be clear… he won’t touch a light to save his soul. 😂 But he’ll build the stand, haul the gear, lift everything I can’t, load the truck, host the rental, and do whatever needs to be done so I can focus on creating.

Kimarie Photography these days is primarily powered by the two of us. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

You can always spot a business owner. They're usually the one in the middle of the aquarium responding to messages and emails.

My aunt caught this hilarious moment when at the exact same time we both were in our natural habitat as business owners. Totally unplanned lol
