Looking for signs of fall in North Texas?

Maybe you should head over to the Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, the fall colors there are always fantastic!

This is a shot from 2018 when the color was off the charts!

Chicago really does have some great skyscraper architecture!

This gorgeous skyline spans hundreds of years of architectural stylings, from the French Renaissance Wrigley building, to the neo-Gothic stylings of the Tribune Tower all the way to the midcentury modernism of Marina City.

And if you couldn't tell, my favorite had to be the Wrigley Building!

What's your favorite skyscraper in Chicago?

Hey y'all, I'm back!

I've been doing a bit of traveling over the past couple weeks, gathering up some great photos to share with you!

I spent some time in The Second City looking for a little bit of fall color, checking out the amazing architecture and shooting the sparkling skyline as it lit up the night sky!

There is so much to see in this amazing city, I walked close to 50 miles around town and took close to 1500 pictures! I won't share all of those with you but I do have quite a few worthwhile to share!

First up is some fall color that was starting to pop up around downtown! It's not quite the wide range of colors that you might see coming out of the Northeast around this time, but I thought the little bit of color against the old architecture really hit the spot!

What's been your favorite thing about visiting a new city?

Howdy Folks!

Today marks the opening of the Great State Fair of Texas!

We missed out on the fair last year so I'm sure we're all excited to get back to visiting in person. It runs from today until October 17th so there is plenty of time to get out and enjoy the best fair in the country!

From trying all the new sweet and savory foods, strolling the Midway, salivating over the butter sculpture, catching a pig race, people watching or just taking it all in from up high on the Texas Star, there is plenty for all to enjoy!

What's your favorite thing about the fair?

It's the last full day of summer!

The astronomical start to the fall season starts Wednesday, September 22nd at 3:21pm Eastern in the northern hemisphere. The fall equinox occurs when the sun crosses the celestial equator going southward; day and night are each about 12 hours and the sun rises exactly due east and sets exactly due west.

Are you sad that summer is over or excited for cooler weather and the approaching holiday season?

We're one week out from the fall equinox and already starting to see lots of great fall photos! This year's autumnal equinox falls on Wednesday, September 22nd, this date marks the beginning of fall in the Northern Hemisphere.

You're sure to notice the sun rising and setting earlier, a cool crisp in the air and the leaves start to turn to magnificent shades of red, orange and yellow!

This shot is from fall of 2020 taken at the fantastic Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado. With over 28 miles of trails, there is no shortage of scenic views and beautiful colors throughout the park!

What's been your favorite place to visit when the leaves start to change?

Have you slept in a wigwam lately?

The Wigwam Motels, also known as Wigwam Villages are very distinctive landmarks originally with 7 locations across the US, now the remaining three are part of the National Register of Historic Places.

This location in Holbrook, Arizona draws a lot of attention from nostalgia buffs that are traveling Route 66, the Mother Road, the Main Street of America. The current caretakers seed the lot with vintage cars to keep the 1950's retro feel, and the rooms are filled with the original hickory log pole furniture!

It is definitely worth a stop if you are passing through or need a place to rest for the night!

It's the 1st of September! Who else is ready for fall?

This is a shot from 2019 in the Japanese Garden area at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. It was a good year for fall color and am hoping for more beauty like this since we missed out in 2020.

The whole garden is quite scenic with its beautiful themed gardens, but the Japanese Garden definitely shines during the fall season with their multitude of cherry, peach, and crabapple trees.

Keep an eye out for more memories from falls past as we get ready for the season!
