"Quiet Before the Thunder" — there are mornings when a storm announces itself from a distance, its cloud lit gold and orange from within, like something caught mid-breath. Down at the water’s edge everything stays still; the marsh holds its reflection perfectly, palms and reeds doubled in water that hasn't heard the news. The same light does double duty here — dressing a coming storm and calming the shoreline at once. For now, the quiet wins. The thunder can wait.
