Its always great to see bears when in RMNP but extra special when you see this year's spring cub with the mother. The golden morning light was just about to light them up when an idiot went straight up the hillside at them. Most people understand that mothers with babies are so dangerous. This fella missed that briefing.... You can see her spotting this person and then taking her cub to safety. He didn't stop there, and proceeded to follow after them....she could have easily charged/attacked him protecting her cub.

Once in awhile I get honored to photograph a special occasion. This weekend I got to photograph our niece Bailey Hawkins and hubby Jordan. What a beautiful couple, awaiting the arrival of their first born! ❤ Moo Moo is waiti g patiently too!!

Last winter was the first time I saw Short Earred Owls and fell instantly in love with their moth like wing strokes and their soft audible sounds. It's that time of year for them to arrive here in the Midwest from the North and I can't wait to see them again. Last year an ice storm cut their visit short as they were unable to hunt the small rodents in the grasses.
