There’s so much talent out there; photographers with incredible skill, vision, and heart. So when someone chooses me, it still catches me off guard in the best way. 🥹

Today, a new client told me, “Anyone can buy a good camera, but you have a good eye.” That line stopped me. Because it’s not just about the camera, or the contract, or the logistics. It’s about being trusted to see people as they are and to tell their story honestly. And the truth is; this work isn’t just a gift for them. It’s a gift for me, too. I get to stand in these fleeting moments with people, witness their tenderness, their laughter, their quiet bravery, their love. I get to feel the weight of their stories and the privilege of being invited into them.

Every session shapes me just as much as I shape the images. I don’t think I’ll ever stop being amazed by how this journey keeps unfolding. How I continue to grow, how I keep meeting the most beautiful souls, and how each session reminds me that this work is truly a gift I get to experience right alongside them. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. ❤️

We spent our 12th anniversary on July 4th witnessing two people promise forever, wrapped in Oceanside’s salt‑air glow. 🌬️🌊✨

Photographing their love felt like being invited into something sacred, & they welcomed us in with such tenderness.

When they told me they loved these captures as much as I did, and that I could share them, it warmed my heart.

I’ve been running nonstop, but their sneak peeks have stayed close. I’m so grateful they trusted me with their memories. Clients become family so quickly, and it never stops humbling me. ✨

Lately I’ve been moving through a really full season; three sessions waiting to be delivered, a wedding tomorrow, another next week, and a big family event right after. It’s a lot to hold, and I’ve felt it in my body and my heart.

And with all the new AI tools out there, it’s easy to feel like everyone else is flying through their work… Editing while they shoot, auto‑culling, auto‑everything....

But the truth is… that’s not why I do this.

I don’t want to create work that feels instant or automated.
I don’t want to rush through moments that deserve to be held with care.
I don’t want to lose the heart of what this is for me.

I want to sit with the images.
I want to feel the story again as I edit.
I want to choose the frames that carry something real - not just the ones that check a box.

My process isn’t fast.
It’s intentional.
It’s emotional.
It’s human.

And even when the workload is heavy, I’m really so grateful.
Grateful for the families who trust me with their memories.
Grateful for the stories I get to witness.
Grateful that my work still feels like soul work, not production.

Small strides, steady progress, and a whole lot of heart. ❤
That is how I move through seasons like this.
